The EU's highest court rules in favor of wind farm builders Galicia
The European Court of Justice decided on Friday that the rights of public consultation had not been violated by environmental groups in a dispute over the construction of Wind Farms in Galicia, a region in Spain's northwestern region.
The ruling was eagerly anticipated by developers of wind farms in the region as well as regional authorities and communities that were opposed to the projects.
The decision impacts dozens of wind power projects worth billions in investment, which were first approved by the regional authorities and then implemented.
