Egypt purchases 2.5 million tons wheat from local farmers in this season

Egypt, one of the top wheat importers, has bought 2.5 million tons of wheat this season from local farmers, according to a cabinet statement released on Thursday. The procurement this season has increased by a small amount compared to the 2024 period.

GFSA reports that Saudi Arabia has issued a tender for the purchase of 655,000 metric tonnes of wheat.

General Food Security Authority announced on Thursday that Saudi Arabia had issued a tender for 655,000 metric tonnes of wheat to be shipped between August and October 2025. European traders expect the price offer results to be available on Monday, 19 May.
