Hybrid-Capable Azimuth Units for Østensjø Rederi Tug
GONDAN Shipbuilders placed an order with Steerprop for hybrid-capable azimuth units to be installed on a new high-performance tugboat, the first tug design from naval architect Skipsteknisk, for Norwegian shipowner Østensjø Rederi. Steerprop will supply dual-end versions of its SP 50 W D propulsors — the most powerful ducted units it has ever delivered — providing the vessel with the flexibility to operate main propulsion using a diesel engine, an electric motor, or a combination of both.
Edda Wind Welcomes New CSOV to its Fleet
GONDAN Shipbuilders has delivered a newly built Commissioning Service Operations Vessel (CSOV) Austri Enabler to Norwegian shipowner Edda Wind.The Austri Enabler, designed by Norwegian company Salt Ship Design, is part of a new generation of vessels designed to mark a turning point in the offshore wind energy sector.Austri Enabler is the fourth and last vessel in a series of four sister vessels from Gondan and follows Nordri Enabler, Sudri Enabler and Vestri Enabler.

Edda Wind's new commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) was named Edda Breeze during a ceremony at Astilleros Gondan Shipyard in Spain, on Saturday.The purpose-built CSOV is designed for emissions-free operations with a hydrogen-based propulsion system. Spanish shipbuilder Astilleros GONDAN said it is gearing up to start building a series of 10 fully electric passenger ferries for the Portuguese river passenger transport operator Transtejo – Transportes Tejo, S.A.The 40-meter-long ferries are designed based on a catamaran-type hull form specifically optimized to make the most of the almost 2MWh of electrical energy stored in its batteries, with silent operation and no CO2 emissions.
Gondan Delivers Stern Trawler to Prestfjord
Spanish shipbuilder Gondan said it delivered the factory freezing stern trawler Sunderøy. It is one of the most advanced vessels of its kind, which will be operated by Prestfjord AS, one of Norway's largest fishing and fish farm owners.Built in steel with aluminum superstructure, the stern trawler will operate in Arctic areas, in the Barents Sea and Svalbard waters. Designed by Kongsberg Maritime, the vessel has a length of 77.3 meters and a beam of 17 meters.

The Gondan shipyard in Figueras has launched a new stern trawler being built for the Norwegian shipowner Engenes Fiskeriselskap AS.This new vessel, designed by Kongsberg Maritime – who also supplied much of the vessel's main equipment – is 69.9 meters long with a beam of 16 meters. Built in steel with aluminum superstructure, the stern trawler will operate mainly in Northern Atlantic, Barents Sea and Svalbard waters.
