Scania Powers New Twin City Liner Ferry
Twin City Liner is a 39m low wash, high-speed catamaran ferry for operation by Twin City Liner on the Danube River between Vienna and Bratislava. The vessel was built by Wight Shipyard, with local support from Incat Crowther Europe.Operating on the Danube takes many interesting design specifications, and to this end the ferry features a low draft of 0.8m, minimal wake / wash, low air draft and a hull form designed for restricted waters where high current and debris are encountered.
Fast Support Vessel Delivered for SEACOR
Louisiana shipbuilder Gulf Craft has delivered the third vessel in a series of new class monohull fast support vessels (FSV) for SEACOR Marine.According to designer Incat Crowther, the vessel Libby L. McCall advances the traditional offshore support vessel model and offers a more cost efficient, comfortable, flexible, and safe option to helicopter transportation.The vessel features redundancy to mitigate against down time or loss of functionality due to mechanical complications.
New Crewboat for PSA Marine
Singapore-based shipbuilder Lita Ocean has delivered Summit PSA 5, a new 25m monohull crewboat for compatriot owner and operator PSA Marine.The Incat Crowther designed vessel will provide for the transport of both personnel and light cargo to and from a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU).The vessel is powered by two MAN D2842 LE410 marine engines rated at 809 kw @ 2,100 rpm driving two fixed pitch propellers.
Scania to Power Double Ended RoPax Ferry
Incat Crowther announced the design of a double-ended Ro-Pax Ferry to operate to Bruny Island in Tasmania.The vessel will be operated by Sealink Travel Group – one of Australia’s largest vessel operators – and will be built by Richardson Devine Marine in Hobart. The first vessel will go into service in December 2019.The vessel is unusual for a double ended vehicle ferry in that it is a robust aluminium catamaran.
Hybrid Ferry: Balearia's 125 Dual-Fuel RoPax Fast Catamaran
Balearia announced construction of the world’s first fast ferry for passenger and cargo powered by dual-fuel LNG engines. The Incat Crowther 125 design is a new class of ferry, being the first to use dual-fuel reciprocating engines and will also be one of the largest fast catamarans in service when it is delivered in 2020.The new design will be constructed by Spanish builder Astilleros Armon at their Gijon shipyard.
