Shell Shuts Nigerian Pipeline Due to Theft
Reuters - Royal Dutch Shell said on Wednesday that it had closed Nigeria's Nembe Creek Trunk oil pipeline on Saturday to stop leakage caused by theft. The pipeline pumps the Bonny Light grade of crude oil. Bonny Light exports for April are at about 95,000 barrels per day according to shipping lists compared to 155,000 for March. Shell Advances Peterhead Clean Energy Project
Shell has signed an agreement with the U.K. Government to progress the Peterhead Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project to the next phase of design. The project, led by Shell, with strategic support from SSE, owners of the Peterhead gas power station in Aberdeenshire, aims to capture10 million metric tons of CO2 over 10 years. This will generate enough clean electricity to power the equivalent of 500,000 homes a year.
Gazprom & Shell Agree Roadmap for Sakhalin ll LNG Project
Gazprom inform that Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Ben van Beurden, Chief Executive Officer of Shell, met in Sochi and signed a document that that envisages the preparation of FEED documentation for the third LNG production train within the Sakhalin II project. “The global LNG market is booming – primarily in Asian countries. Novel LNG production capacities are the key to achieving a strong position in this market,” said Alexey Miller.
Fugro Get Shell Malaysia US$250-Million Subsea IMR Contract
The Netherlands-based Fugro Subsea Services inform they have been awarded a long term contract by Sarawak Shell Berhad / Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Limited (Shell) for the provision of underwater inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) services at their subsea infrastructure across Malaysia. The contract will run for five years with options to extend. Fugro will establish a project office in Miri and a support facility in Labuan.

Shell Suspends Alaskan Offshore Drilling

Shell to Sell Interest in Brazilian Offshore Project
Shell has announced an agreement to sell a 23% interest in the Parque das Conchas (BC-10) project offshore Brazil to Qatar Petroleum International for approximately $1 billion, subject to closing . The transaction is subject to approval by the National Petroleum and Gas Agency (ANP, Brazil’s Oil and Gas regulator) and the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE, Brazil’s anti-trust authority).
Brunei Shell Orders Trelleborg Foam Fenders
Trelleborg has won the contract to supply more than 100 of its SeaGuard foam fenders to Brunei Shell’s Kuala Belait supply base wharf in Brunei, through local Brunei registered contractor Waqi Sdn Bhd. As part of an upgrade project for the wharf, 93 fenders are required to span six berthing spaces. The fenders will be installed with spacing of 1.5 meters, covering a length along the entire Kuala Belait Supply Base Wharf of 325 meters.

Royal Dutch Shell today announced that, effective immediately, Upstream International Director, Andy Brown, is on extended leave to recuperate from a recent medical procedure.
