Seaway 7 Books Siem Offshore Vessel for Seagreen Wind Farm Work
Seaway 7, a renewables branch of offshore installation firm Subsea 7, has chartered one of Siem Offshore's offshore subsea construction vessels (OSCVs).The contract is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2021, when the vessel will provide walk-to-work services as part of the construction phase of the Seagreen offshore wind farm, in the UK North Sea, 27km offshore Scotland.Under the contract, the vessel will remain with Seaway 7 for a period of 300 days.

Offshore installation specialist Subsea 7 has expanded its fleet with newbuild reel-lay vessel Seven Vega.Built by Dutch shipbuilder Royal IHC, the Seven Vega is 149 meters long, with a breadth of 33 meters, and a Class 3 dynamic positioning system.Its reel-lay system has a 600-ton top tension capacity consisting of a 32-meter main reel and a 17-meter auxiliary reel with a maximum storage capacity of 5,600 and 1,600 tons respectively.

Partners DNV GL, Kongsberg Maritime and Subsea 7 have concluded the pilot testing of Kongsberg Maritime’s (KM) DP Digital Survey (KMDS) application on board the Subsea 7 vessel Seven Kestrel.The pilot tested the use of a remote digital verification tool for testing dynamic positioning (DP) systems as part of classification society DNV GL’s D-Class project.In March 2019, DNV GL rolled out the first fleet-wide remote survey scheme for some inspections in the classification industry.
