Aker Solutions has been awarded two contracts from Island Offshore to provide well intervention services for Statoil in the North Sea. Scope of work is to deliver downhole well intervention services from Island Offshore's two riserless well intervention vessels Island Frontier and Island Wellserver. These operations include running of mechanical wireline, electrical wireline and wireline tractor services. The two contracts are valid for five years plus two optional two-year extensions (5+2+2).

Harvey Gulf Acquires Bee Mar's Assets
Harvey Gulf International Marine’s CEO, Shane Guidry, announced that, on June 4, 2012, Harvey Gulf signed an agreement with Bee Mar, LLC to purchase all of Bee Mar’s vessels and assets. The purchase will include 10 Offshore Supply Vessels, which will increase Harvey Gulf’s fleet to a total of 32 vessels – with 24 deepwater, new generation Offshore Support Vessels and 8 deepwater towing vessels. Upon closing, Harvey Gulf will have operations in the U.S.
Record Breaking Month for Drug Seizures
The Coast Guard and partner agencies seized 11,300 pounds of marijuana before it reached U.S. shores in May, breaking a single-month record set a decade ago. "The Coast Guard and our interagency partners have already interdicted more marijuana near the U.S. maritime border with Mexico in the first two quarters of fiscal year 2012 than it did in all of 2011,” said Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Bob Papp.
