Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups and the world's leading builder of cruise ships, has selected Intergraph Smart Yard to improve the execution of international large-scale cruise, military and merchant ship building projects. Fincantieri operates in the design and construction of complex ships with high technological content, such as cruise ships, merchant and naval vessels, offshore and mega yachts. Following a detailed competitive benchmark and proof of concept project, the company chose Smart Yard – Intergraph’s flagship solution for a single, integrated, collaborative design and fabrication knowledge management environment specializing in fabrication yards.

Intergraph, informs that international engineering and project management company AMEC has chosen to upgrade its investment in PDS® to Intergraph Smart 3D technology by transferring its existing PDS perpetual licenses to Smart 3D licenses. Intergraph explains that AMEC is a longtime user of its solutions and is committed to establishing global expertise in Smart 3D, Intergraph's next-generation, data-centric and rule-driven 3D design tool. AMEC will implement Smart 3D across its enterprise to capture new business and support existing projects. Shin Kurushima Dockyard Company has introduced Intergraph's 3D CAD/CAM software into the production phase of its ship projects. SKDY had chosen to standardize on SmartMarine 3D and successfully demonstrated its use of the industry-leading solution with a steel-cutting ceremony. With Intergraph's continuous enhancement of SmartMarine 3D, the solution has out-of-the-box content and functionality to support ship production. Today, SKDY has successfully incorporated its specific requirements into SmartMarine 3D, which are fully automated across its production processes. With support from Intergraph, SKDY is the first shipyard in Japan to implement SmartMarine 3D for the production stage, using its own built-in, automated rules.

Brazilian joint venture will use SmartMarine® Enterprise components for project with oil giant Petrobras. Tome Ferrostaal, a joint venture between Tome Engenharia and Ferrostaal in Brazil, has selected Intergraph® SmartMarine® Enterprise solutions, distributed by Sisgraph, as part of a project with Petrobras, one of the world's largest energy companies. Intergraph's enterprise engineering software will be used to construct the topsides of six identical floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels, which will be built in Brazil. ABB Offshore Systems AS of Norway has signed a multi-year contract for development and implementation of global information management and project engineering software with the Process, Power & Offshore division of Intergraph Corporation

Intergraph Korea Ltd. has acquired all the shares of TechServer Corp., a Seoul-based software and services company specializing in automated drafting, data exchange and system integration in the shipbuilding, process, power and offshore industries. The acquisition will complement and enhance Intergraph’s SmartPlant and SmartMarine Enterprise engineering software solutions and expand Intergraph’s capability to serve its growing Asia-Pacific customer base. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. TechServer has expertise in software enhancement and integration services, especially for shipbuilding, which is a key enhancement to the Intergraph’s Asia-Pacific marine services center capabilities.
