Australia Ship Sim Center Opens

The Western Australian Minister for Ports, the Hon. Alannah MacTiernan MLC opened the expanded facilities of HR Wallingford’s new Australia Ship Simulation Center.HR Wallingford has added two new purpose-built simulators to its center in Fremantle, bringing the total number of simulators that it owns and operates there to six. Yang Ming to Launch New ITS Service

Taiwanese ocean shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation said that encouraged by the steady economic growth and foreign trade in between Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, it  continues to enhance its Southeast Asia deployment with the new ITS service (Indonesia - Singapore/Malaysia - Thailand Service).The ITS service is set to be launched on November 12th, 2019, Yang Ming said.A total of three container ships with loadable capacity of 1,180 TEU each will be deployed for ITS service, of which one is contributed by Yang Ming. Deepwater Port Posorja 1st Phase Opened

The $538 million first phase of the new Deepwater Port of Posorja in Ecuador by global trade enabler, DP World, is now completed and successfully operational.The overall $1.2 billion project will replicate Dubai's Jebel Ali Port and freezone, making Ecuador a trade and logistics hub for South America's west coast, and opening a gateway for large container ships with capacities exceeding 10,000 TEUs.Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO, DP World, visited the facility to assess progress of the project, which is one of the largest international investments in Ecuador. Yang Ming Announces New Intra-Asia Service

Taiwanese ocean shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation announced a new Intra-Asia service KVM(Korea–Vietnam–Malaysia Service) jointly operated by YM and APL Co. Pte Ltd through its CNC brand with effect on February 21st, 2019.The service will be operated with three 1,800-TEU container vessels, one by YM and two by APL Co. Ptd Ltd via its CNC brand.The full port rotation will be Kwangyang, Pusan, Kaohsiung, Ho Chi Minh, Port Kelang, Singapore, Haiphong, Kaohsiung, Kwangyang. A round trip will take 21 days.The new service is expected to connect Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia more efficiently and provide customers with more convenient and excellent delivery service.

Viega Debuts ProPress Zero Lead Ball Valves

Viega has introduced its line of Viega ProPress Zero Lead Ball Valve press x hose thread for copper fittings. The bronze ball valves are full port and designed for potable water applications. The ball valves are available in 1/2" and 3/4" press sizes and 3/4" hose sizes. Other features include a lockable metal handle, stainless steel ball and EPDM sealing element. The Viega ProPress for copper system is available in more than 600 fitting configurations, in sizes ranging from 1/2" to 4".

Neptune Lines Appoints Agent in Arabian Gulf

Maritime and logistics service provider Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) has been appointed agent for Neptune Lines’ new Arabian Gulf short sea car transportation service in Kuwait, Iraq and Qatar. ZIM Expands Asia-ECSA Services

Israeli container carrier ZIM is expanding its Asia – South America East Coast (SAEC) via the Suez Canal at the end of May. The new service, Asia – East Coast Brazil (AEC), a collaboration with the SSA group, will allow ZIM to offer a second weekly service on this trade, in addition to our established Asia - South America service (ASE). The new service provides direct connection to Korea, as well as expanding ECSA port coverage by adding Rio de Janeiro & Navagantes in Brazil. The AEC will commence May 9 from Pusan with a full port rotation of Pusan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Navegantes, Paranagua, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Pusan.

U.S. West Coast Port Ops Resume

U.S. West Coast port operations resumed in full on Monday after shipping companies halted loading and unloading of freighters for the weekend, citing chronic cargo backups that shippers and dockworkers have blamed on each other during months of labor tensions. But a planned resumption of federally mediated contract talks was pushed back until Wednesday without explanation, even as the White House joined retailers and manufacturers in urging the sides to redouble efforts to settle a dispute that has rippled through the U.S. commercial supply chain. Shippers and terminal operators announced last week they would suspend cargo crane operations for container vessels at the ports on Saturday and Sunday because of mounting congestion that they said had brought the docks to virtual gridlock.

(CMA CGM), has announced the co-operation with China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL), Orient Overseas Container Lines (OOCL) and Pacific International Lines (PIL), in the North East Asia, Australia and New Zealand Trade commencing from Shanghai in early of November. The new service will be operated with 7 vessels of 4,250 TEU nominal capacity, of which three (3) vessels will be provided by CMA CGM, two (2) vessels by OOCL, one (1) vessel each by CSCL and PIL, and 1 ship for CSCL and PIL, while ANL will remain slot charterer. It will be replacing the current “ANZEX” / “NZN” service operated by CMA CGM & OOCL. New Brass Ball Valve from Wabtec

Wabtec Corporation (NYSE:WAB) introduced two new lines of brass ball valve products to serve a variety of industrial markets, including Oil and Gas, LP Gas and Chemical Manufacturing. For industrial markets, Wabtec now offers a robust valve that can withstand extreme temperature changes. The valve features a preloaded seat to extend valve life by keeping the ball seals pressed against the ball as the seals wear. These valves, which can also be refurbished with replacement kits, come in Full port, Conventional port, and UL Listed. They can be configured to fit custom applications. In addition, Wabtec offers an economy brass ball valve line to complement the premium line.

Six New Ships on TMM Lines’ Transpacific Service

The deployment of the 4,050teu Aguascalientes on the Mexico-Asia Premier service completes TMM's newbuild program on the transpacific. The ship, on long-term charter, joins the TMM Monterrey and four other sister ships on the weekly Mexico-Asia Premier service. It is the last of the series of newbuilds, both owned and chartered, which we have taken delivery of in the last 18 months. The 3,200 teu TMM Yucatan, TMM Colima and TMM Guanajuato, all owned ships, were built at the China Shipbuilding Corp in Kaohsiung, and are now deployed on the Gulf-Mexico-Americas service, also operating weekly. Senior Vice President Juan Manuel Gonzalez says the new ships are an integral part of our plans to improve services. The ships are named after Mexican states, reflecting the birthplace of TMM Lines.
