Tunisia purchases approximately 50,000 metric tonnes corn at tender, traders claim
European traders reported that the Tunisian grain agency ONF purchased about 50,000 tons of corn from an international auction on Wednesday. The corn was to come from optional origins.
The 25,000 tons were purchased in two consignments. One from Raya Trading House at $252.27 per ton, cost and freight included for shipment from July 25 to August 25, and another from Viking at $247.85 per ton for shipment from September 25 to October 25.
It was a higher price than the lowest offer made earlier. If the conditions are not attractive, then it is unlikely that the lowest price will be accepted.
The reports reflect the assessments of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later. Michael Hogan is reporting.
