Eighteen die after migrant boat sinks off southern Greek island

An official of the coast guard said that 18 migrants drowned after their boat capsized 26 miles (40km) south of Chrysi in southern Greece. Two were rescued. The boat was first detected by a Turkish freight ship which then contacted Greek authorities.

European traders reported that Algeria's state grain agency OAIC bought milling wheat at an international auction which ended on Wednesday. They said that the initial price for first purchases was around $256 per metric ton, including freight. Some estimated the lowest price as $255 per ton, c&f.
