Tunisia receives offers for 100,000 tons of wheat, traders report
European traders reported that the lowest price offered by Tunisia’s state grain agency in its international tender on Friday for about 100,000 metric tonnes of soft wheat is believed to be 254.58 per ton, including cost and freight.
No purchase has been made yet, but offers are still being evaluated. If the conditions are not attractive, then it is unlikely that the lowest offer will be accepted.
Trading house Bunge is believed to be the lowest bidder for wheat with optional origin, under the "all or Nothing" conditions for 100,000 tons.
The price is only available if you purchase the entire 100,000 tons. It is not applicable to individual consignments.
Wheat is required in four consignments of 25,000 tons for shipment between November 5, and December 15, depending on the origin provided.
Bunge also made the lowest individual offer, offering all four consignment lots separately for $254.86 per ton c&f.
Ameropa has offered $259.85 per ton, c&f. Casillo is offering $259.97, c&f. Other offers are said to be over $260.
Tunisia’s grain agency bought 125,000 tons of wheat at the lowest possible price, $255.86 per ton c&f.
The reports reflect the assessments of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later. Michael Hogan is the reporter. Mark Potter (Editing)
