Philippine's Batangas Port Hits Record Cargo Volume in November

The Batangas International Port or locally known as the Batangas Pier in Philippines said that  Batangas Container Terminal (BCT), managed by listed Asian Terminals Inc.(ATI), has continuously stepped up its role as international trade facilitator in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) and has effectively helped decongest Metro Manila roads.Early in November, BCT achieved a new operations milestone as it broke through the 200,000-TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) cargo volume mark for the first time in a single year since its start-up in 2010.With this achievement and still a month to go before 2018 ends, BCT already surpassed its full-year cargo throughput of over 197,000 teus in 2017.

ICTSI Income Drops 68%

International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) reported audited consolidated financial results for the year ended December 31, 2015 posting revenue from port operations of US$1.051 billion, one percent lower compared to US$1.061 billion the year earlier; Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) of US$450.0 million, two percent higher than the US$443.0 million generated the previous year; and reported Net Income attributable to equity holders of US$58.5 million, down 68 percent compared to the US$182.0 million earned in 2014. Diluted earnings per share for the period declined 85 percent to US$0.011 from US$0.075 in 2014.

BCT Upgrades Intermodal Facility

Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) in Gdynia, Poland recently completed its railway terminal modernization project last December. Part of BCT’s largest investment program, the modernization project was carried out in partnership with the Port of Gdynia Authority and was backed by the European Union Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment. New TOS Live at Houston’s Barbours Cut

Barbours Cut Container Terminal (BCT), part of the Port of Houston Authority, has completed its implementation of the Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS). The go-live is part of a larger effort underway at the Port Authority to update terminal operations to more modern hardware and software technology platforms. The Port of Houston Authority, which operates the Barbours Cut Container Terminal and Bayport Container Terminal, handles about 67 percent of all containerized cargo in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. This represents approximately two million TEUs annually between the two terminals. The Port Authority’s container handling facilities are among the most advanced operations in the nation.

ICTSI 9M Profts Above Expectations

International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) today reported unaudited consolidated financial results for the first nine months of 2015 posting revenues from port operations of US$792.0 million, an increase of two percent over the US$779.2 million reported for the same period last year; Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) of US$339.5 million, four percent higher than the US$326.1 million generated in the first nine months of 2014, and net income attributable to equity holders of US$136.2 million, up 0.3% over the US$135.7 million earned in the same period last year. Diluted earnings per share for the period was one percent lower at US$0.0550 from US$0.0556 in 2014.

ICTSI 1H 2015 Net Income Down 1%

International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) today reported unaudited consolidated financial results for the first half of 2015, posting revenue from port operations of US$552.1million, an increase of eight percent over the US$510.3 million reported for the same period last year; Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) of US$237.4 million, 12 percent higher than the US$212.2 million generated in the first six months of 2014; and net income attributable to equity holders of US$100.4 million, down one percent over the US$101.7 million earned in the same period last year. Diluted earnings per share for the period was likewise lower by one percent to US$0.042, from US$0.043 in 2014.

Batangas Port Sets Container Record

Batangas Container Terminal (BCT) set a new record in 2014 for containers handled, says its operator Asian Terminals, Inc. (ATI). Port handled over 98,000 twenty-foot-equivalent units (TEUs) in 2014, its highest total ever. The port operator added that BCT ended 2014 with consolidated throughput of 1.02 million TEUs, up 8.6%. BCT has continuously expanded its role as a comprehensive gateway for Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), providing shippers direct connectivity to Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia and other global hubs through vessels regularly calling the port weekly. Barranquilla Implements Tideworks TOS

Tideworks Technology, Inc., a premier provider of full-service terminal management and planning software solutions, today announced that the new Barranquilla Container Terminal (BCT), located at the Port of Barranquilla, Colombia, has successfully implemented and gone live with Tideworks’ terminal operating system (TOS) solutions. BCT has deployed Tideworks’ Mainsail Terminal Management System, Forecast by Tideworks and Spinnaker Planning Management System. Tideworks will continue to provide its platinum maintenance and support services including around-the-clock technical support and all software upgrades. Additionally BCT will receive ongoing remote technical services to include system health monitoring and database and OS administration.

Metro Cruise to Operate Brooklyn Cruise Terminal

Metro Cruise Services LLC entered a four-year agreement with the New York City Economic Development Corp. (NYCEDC), where it has been designated as the sole and exclusive operator of the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal (BCT). This will be the first time in Metro’s company history that marine terminal and stevedore operations will be conducted in the Port of New York. Metro’s cruise brand has grown in the Northeast region in recent years, beginning with the providing of stevedore services in the Port of Boston to Crystal, RCI, Celebrity and Carnival cruise lines.

Irish Continental Group Half Year Results

In a comment John B. McGuckian Chairman stated, ‘‘This was a positive half years trading with increases in revenue and operating profit driven mainly by higher freight carryings and lower fuel costs, partially offset by weaker passenger markets. In the prior year the group disposed of its subsidiary Feederlink and the comparatives set out in the Interim Management Report have been restated to exclude trading from discontinued operations. The Board of Irish Continental Group plc (ICG) reports that, in the seasonally less profitable first half of the year, the group recorded revenue of €120.9 million compared with €117.0 million in the same period in 2012, an increase of 3.3%.

Maersk Chooses DCT Gdansk

Maersk Line announced that with effect from December 1, it will switch its Polish operations from BCT in to the new deepwater container terminal DCT Gdansk. Maersk Line said: “After many years of good cooperation with BCT Gdynia, the time has come to explore new possibilities with DCT Gdansk, allowing Maersk Line to continue to offer its customers a reliable product while maintaining a high level of efficiency  and  cost  effectiveness.  “By  moving  to  DCT  we  have  secured  the  possibility  for  our customers to continue to grow along with Maersk Line in Poland. Through an open dialogue we will continue to engage our customers in determining the optimal terms of our services  in order to  cater  for our future growth and cooperation.”

Konecranes Wins Container Crane Orders to Russia

Konecranes has received orders for five ship-to-shore (STS) cranes and fourteen rubber tired gantry (RTG) cranes to three container terminals of National Container Company (NCC) in Russia. The cranes will be delivered to NCC's subsidiaries First Container Terminal (FCT) in St. Petersburg, Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) in Ust-Luga and the inland terminal Shushary. The total value of the orders is over $56.7m. The procurement of container handling equipment is part of NCC's terminal expansion and development plan. The ordered equipment will increase throughput capacity of the existing terminals and improve productivity. Konecranes will deliver one STS crane and ten RTGs to FCT in St.

Palmer Johnson to Aquire Assets of Intermarine Savannah

Palmer Johnson Savannah Inc., a member of Palmer Johnson Yachts group of companies, has signed a purchase agreement to acquire substantially all assets of BCT Real Estate and Savannah Shipyard, operating as Intermarine Savannah. Bpalmer Johnson’s acquisition of the 21-acre site in Savannah, a covered graving dock 535 ft. by 73 ft., capable of drydocking just about any yacht in the world, a high-roofed main construction building more than 600 ft. long, 700 ft. of covered docks and a 1,000-ton marine railway.
