Maersk Names Fourth Jack-up at DSME

Bowtech Supplied Vision System to Imes

Bowtech Products won a contract by Imes earlier in 2012, to supply cameras and lights for a Riser Visual Inspection System, which has been used on BP Norge’s Skarv development project in the Norwegian Sea. The contract from Imes involved the supply of the camera and lighting components for a visual inspection system, capable of monitoring the pull-in and hand-off of flexible risers on BP Norge’s Skarv FPSO. The system included four sets of cameras and lights, all of which were certified explosion proof to ATEX regulations and installed at 90° intervals around the i-tube…

North Sea Accommodation Rig Contract Extended

One-month contract extension by BP Norge AS for 'Safe Scandinavia' at Valhall Field in North Sea. BP Norge AS has exercised the first of two remaining one-month options, thereby extending Safe Scandinavia’s operations at Valhall until 30th November 2012. The value of the exercised option is approximately US$ 9-million.
 Safe Scandinavia is owned by Prosafe, a leading owner and operator of semi-submersible accommodation/service rigs. The company operates globally, employs 550 people and is headquartered in Larnaca, Cyprus.

Keppel – 4 Contracts Worth $222.5m

Keppel Offshore & Marine has secured $222.5m dollars worth of contracts through its subsidiaries for the conversion of a floating storage and offloading vessel (FSO), the construction of an internal turret, the refurbishment and outfitting of a semi-submersible multi-service vessel as well as the fabrication, installation and integration of topside process modules for a Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO). The first contract is for the conversion of a FSO by Keppel Shipyard for M3nergy JDA Sdn Bhd.

Contract Extension on the Ula and Valhall Fields

Smedvig has signed an agreement with BP Norge AS to extend the platform drilling contract on the Ula and Valhall fields in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. years, with option for one additional year. Aker Kvaerner Tapped for Skarv FPSO Job

BP has chosen Aker Kvaerner to perform the detail engineering, procurement and construction management assistance (EPcma) for the Skarv field development in the Norwegian Sea. Since November 2005, Aker Kvaerner has been involved with the project, performing the front end engineering design of the complete production ship (FPSO) and intermediate engineering of the topsides. The new EPcma contract covers detail engineering and procurement work for the 16.000 ton FPSO topsides as well as construction management assistance to BP. On peak, the project will engage over 400 people from Aker Kvaerner. The production start for the field is scheduled for August 2011. The Skarv oil and gas field was discovered in 1998, and it has taken close to 10 years to mature the field to its current stage.

Helix Wins Pipelay Contract

Helix Energy Solutions announced that it has been awarded a contract by BP Norge for the lay of a gas export pipeline for the Skarv Idun development project, in the Norwegian Sea. This 80 kilometer, 26-in. coated pipeline will be installed by the pipe lay vessel Caesar in the summer of 2009.

Aker Kvaerner Awarded Contract with BP Norge AS

BP Norge AS has awarded Aker Kvaerner a service contract for provision of personnel and equipment for well intervention services for the Ula, Valhall, Hod, Tambar and Skarv fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The contract is for a firm period of five years plus a two year optional period. The estimated contract value for the initial five years is NOK 175 million. The scope of work comprises mechanical wireline services, wireline tractor services and cased hole logging services. The work will be undertaken by the Aker Kvaerner subsidiary, Aker Kvaerner Well Service in Stavanger. Since the Ula field came onstream in 1986, Aker Kvaerner Well Service has provided well intervention services to BP.
