DOF Secures North Sea PSV Contracts

DOF Group said it has secured an extension with Maersk UK for 2011-built platform supply vessel (PSV) Skandi Gamma until the end of 2016 and for 2003-built PSV Skandi Caledonia with Apache North Sea Ltd until mid-January 2017.

Aker to Build PSV for Farstad Shipping

Farstad Shipping ASA, through its subsidiary Farstad Supply AS, has signed a contract with Aker Yards to build a UT 751 E platform supply vessel. The hull for the PSV will be built in Romania and outfitting yard will be Aker Yards Brevik. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for July 2007. The vessel will upon delivery enter into the long term contract that was recently awarded by Norsk Hyrdo

Aker Yards to Build PSV for Farstad Supply

Aker Yards has signed a contract with Farstad Supply to deliver an UT 751 E platform supply vessel. The value of the contract is approx $45M. This is the 17th contract between the shipowner Farstad Shipping ASA and Aker Yards. The hull for the PSV will be built in Romania and outfitted at Aker Yards, Brevik. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for July 2007.

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Simon Møkster Shipping AS said it has been awarded a contract with Lundin Norway AS for the platform supply vessel (PSV) Stril Mar.   The 2016-built Stril Mar will be under firm contract until the summer of 2018, plus additional options.

Aker Yards to Build PSV

Aker Yards has confirmed an optional agreement with Siem Offshore Inc for the building of two Platform Supply Vessels. The value of the contract is approximately NOK 275 million. Delivery is scheduled for second quarter 2007 from Aker Yards, Aukra. The vessels are of Vik Sandvik design, VS 470 Mk II. The vessels will be equipped with dynamic positioning, special product tanks, azimuth thrusters and accommodation for 34 persons.

Aker Yards to Build PSV for Island Offshore

Aker Yards has signed a contract with Island Offshore VIII KS, a company within the Island Offshore Group in Ulsteinvik, Norway, to deliver a UT 755 LN platform supply vessel. This is the 17th contract between the shipowner, Island Offshore in Ulsteinvik and Aker Yards. The hull for the platform supply vessel will be built in Romania and the vessel will be outfitted in Brevik. Delivery is scheduled for September 2007.

Aker Yards to Build PSV for Portosalvo

Aker Yards has entered into a contract with Portosalvo Ltd.for building of one Platform Supply Vessel based of the design Aker PSV 09 CD. The value of the contract is approximately $53.2m. Delivery is scheduled in 4Q 2010. Portosalvo Ltd. also has an option for one more identical vessel. The vessel will be equipped with dynamic positioning, diesel electric propulsion and will have the class notation Clean Design. The vessels are designed for good sea keeping performance, low fuel consumption and environmental friendly operations. The hull for the vessel will be built at Aker Yards in Romania and outfitted at Aker Yards in Norway.

Aker Yards to Build PSV

Aker Yards, via its wholly owned subsidiary, Aker Brevik, has entered into a contract with Island Offshore VIII KS in Ulsteinvik, Norway, to deliver a UT 755LN platform supply vessel. The value of the contract is approximately NOK 130 million. This is the fourteenth contract between the shipowner, Island Offshore Group in Ulsteinvik and Aker Yards and the third for delivery in 2005 between Aker Brevik AS and the Island Offshore Group. The hull for the PSV will be built at Vyborg Shipyard in Russia, and will arrive in Brevik in August this year. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for medio December 2005. The platform supply vessel for Island Offshore is designated newbuilding number 41 at Brevik Construction AS.

Aker Yards to build PSV for Olympic

Aker Yards signed a contract worth approximately $22.8 million with Olympic Shipping to build a Platform Supply Vessel of the MT 6009 design. Delivery is scheduled for December 2006. "We are pleased to have received another newbuilding order from Olympic Shipping," said Roy Reite, in charge of Aker Yards' Offshore & Specialized Vessels business area. "This contract confirms our long and good relationship with Olympic Shipping, which currently has two vessels under construction at our yards". Aker Yards has signed a contract with Island Offshore VIII KS, a company within the Island Offshore Group in Ulsteinvik, Norway, to deliver a UT 755 LN platform supply vessel. The value of the contract is approximately NOK 150 million. This is the 18th contract between the shipowner, Island Offshore in Ulsteinvik and Aker Yards. The hull for the platform supply vessel will be built in Romania and the vessel will be outfitted in Brevik. Delivery is scheduled for primo November 2007.

Wanax Invests in PSV Market

Wanax AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of S.D Standard Drilling Plc, will  invest USD 5.215mln in platform supply vessels  (PSV) Opportunity III DIS. The investment will be done through subscription of ownership interests in PSV Opportunity  III and gives Wanax AS a 35% ownership stake in PSV  Opportunity III. PSV Opportunity III will take delivery of two mid-size PSV of the UT 755 LN design. The vessels were built   in Norway in 2007 and 2008. The total purchase price for the two vessels is USD  11.7 million, financed solely through equity.

Damen to Launch New PSV Series

Damen Shipyards will unveil its new Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) at EUROPORT 2011 and will launch a complete PSV range in the next few months. The PSV 3300 E3 is a dedicated supply vessel to transport supplies to oil and gas rigs and is specifically designed to perform safely in adverse weather conditions. The first two vessels will be built at the renowned Damen shipyard in Galati, Romania. Delivery is scheduled for early 2013. Damen’s new vessel series will range from the smallest PSV of 1,500 dwt to the largest of approximately 6,500 dwt.

PSV for Atlantic Offshore to be Named

  A naming ceremony is to be held for the PSV built by Kleven shipyard recently. Built at Kleven Shipyard, the PSV no. 368 was delivered from Myklebust Verft to Atlantic Offshore on 6 August 2014. The PSV of VS 485 MKII L design from Wärtsila Ship Design, is leaving the yard and joining her sister vessel Ocean Star (delivered in May) on a Statoil chart in the North Sea. The naming ceremony for Ocean Art will be held in Stavanger during the oil and gas exhibiton ONS on 28 August.

Damen Shipyards Galati has delivered the World Diamond, the first of six Platform Supply Vessels for Norwegian offshore owner World Wide Supply, built to an entirely new Damen design. Today, at Gondan Shipyard in Figueras the New PSV for the Norwegian Ship-Owner, Simon Møkster Shipping, has been named as STRIL MAR. The event was attended by the CEO of the Owner, Anne Jorunn Møkster, accompanied by other members of the Management of the Ship-Owner company; as well as representatives from the Shipyard and Main Suppliers. Shipbuilding: Keppel Wins $113m in Brazilian Contracts

Keppel Singmarine Brasil (KSM Brasil), Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M)'s new 7.6-ha shipbuilding facility in the state of Santa Catarina, has secured two newbuild contracts worth about $113 million from fleet operators in Brazil. The first contract entails building a series of six 45-tonne bollard pull twin-screw Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) harbour tugboats, for REBRAS - Rebocadores do Brasil S.A. (SMIT Rebras). In the second contract, the yard will construct a large-sized 4500dwt Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) based on its proprietary MTD 9045P-DE design for Keppel O&M's Brazilian ship-owning arm, Guanabara Navegacao Ltda (GNL).This is the first vessel constructed under the business model to build Offshore Support Vessels in anticipation of demand in Brazil…

Bollinger and Rigdon Sign Contract for Series of PSVs

Bollinger Shipyards has announced the signing of a multi-vessel contract with Rigdon Marine Corporation. Bollinger will build ten platform supply vessels (PSV) for Rigdon Marine, based on a new GPA 654 Class, designed by Guido Perla & Associates. The design incorporates increased carrying capacity and greater operating efficiency, compared to similar sized vessels, while at the same time allowing simplified construction methods to reduce construction cost. All ten vessels are planned to be built at Bollinger’s Lockport La. facility. Donald "Boysie" Bollinger, chairman and CEO of Bollinger said, "We are excited about our upcoming program with Rigdon Marine. I have worked along side of Larry and several of his team members for many years.

Tidewater Orders Two LEEVAC Platform Supply Vessels

LEEVAC Shipyards Jennings LLC, Jennings, LA, announced it has signed contracts with Tidewater Marine, LLC of New Orleans, LA to build two LEEVAC Design Services “LDS ” Platform Supply Vessel (PSV), a 300’ x 62’ x 24’ diesel electric PSV with options for two additional vessels. The LDS 300 DE PSV will have a deadweight capacity of 5400 LTs and will carry more than 17,600 barrels of liquid mud. It will be powered by four Caterpillar Model 3516C Tier 3 IMO II Marine variable speed diesel propulsion generator sets rated at 2100kw each.

Otto Marine Charters PSV Otto Explorer

Otto Marine Limited announced that it has successfully found a charter for its MT6009 PSV, named Otto Explorer. The vessel will be chartered out to the Group’s subsidiary, Singapore-based Reflect Geophysical Pte Ltd, on a bare boat charter for a contract term of 7+1+1+1 years. The MT6009 PSV, a Multi Purpose Field Support Vessel (Hull 7037), is the first of her kind to be built in Asia on a turnkey basis. The MT6009 PSV is a DNV Class, diesel-electric propelled vessel that is environmentally friendly and provides its crew with comfort class specifications.

Third Damen PSV Delivered to World Wide Supply

Damen Shipyards Galati has handed over the third Platform Supply Vessel in a series of six to World Wide Supply of Norway. This six-ship order heralds a new era in offshore construction for Damen Shipyards Group. World Pearl is built to Damen’s entirely new PSV 3300 design. The first of the Class PSV 3300, World Diamond, was delivered in July to the Norwegian company. “Delivery of the first PSV 3300 represents a new era in Damen’s continuing offshore supply vessel story,” said Arnout Damen commenting at the time of the first delivery.
