Diana Enters Time Charter Contract with Koch

Diana Shipping has signed a time charter agreement with Koch Shipping Pte. Ltd, Singapore, for one of its newcastlemax dry bulk vessels. Under the agreement, Koch will employ the 208,500 dwt newbuilding, to be named San Francisco, for a gross charter rate of $11,750 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum 12 months to about 16 months. The charter is expected to commence on 6 January 2017. This employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$4.23 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter. Excluding the aforementioned vessel, Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet currently consists of 46 dry bulk vessels (two newcastlemax, 14 capesize, three post-panamax, four kamsarmax and 23 panamax).

Newcastlemax Duo Joins Diana Shipping’s Fleet

Diana Shipping has taken delivery of the m/v San Francisco (formerly Hull No. H2548)  and the m/v Newport News (formerly Hull No. H2549), two new building Newcastlemax dry bulk vessels that were contracted in May 2013. The m/v San Francisco has been time chartered to Koch Shipping Pte. Ltd. at a rate of $11,750 per day, for a period of minimum twelve (12) months to about sixteen (16) months. The charter is expected to commence on January 6, 2017. The employment is expected to generate approximate $4.2 million in gross revenues. The m/v Newport News has been time chartered to SwissMarine Services with employment expected to commence on Jan. 9, for a period of minimum twenty-two (22) months to maximum twenty-six (26) months.

DIANA, Charter Contract with Koch for Newbuilding

Diana Shipping Inc. today announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with Koch Shipping Pte. Ltd., Singapore, for one of its Newcastlemax dry bulk vessels, “Hull No. H2548” (to be named “San Francisco”), which is currently under construction. The gross charter rate is US$11,750 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum twelve (12) months to about sixteen (16) months. The charter is expected to commence on January 6, 2017. As previously announced, the m/v San Francisco is a newbuilding Newcastlemax dry bulk vessel of approximately 208,500 dwt. Diana Shipping Gets Charters Two Bulkers

Greek dry bulk shipping company Diana Shipping has entered into time charter contracts for its two vessels, the M/V Orleans and the M/V Melite, which are scheduled to start in December 2016. "Diana Shipping, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into a time charter contract with Koch Shipping Pte Ltd, Singapore, for one of its ize dry bulk vessels, the m/v New Orleans," says a statement from the company. The gross charter rate is US$11,250 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum twelve (12) months to maximum sixteen (16) months. The charter is expected to commence on December 10, 2016. The “New Orleans” is a 180,960 dwt Capesize dry bulk vessel built in 2015.

Diana Shipping Abandons Kamsarmax Order

Diana Shipping Inc. today announced that, through a wholly-owned subsidiary, it provided a notice of cancellation of the shipbuilding contract with Yangzhou Dayang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Sinopacific International Trade Co., Ltd., dated January 8, 2014 (the “Contract”), and Addendum No. 1 to the Contract dated April 21, 2014 with Sumec Marine Co., Ltd. with respect to a Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier, Hull No. DY6006, with an original delivery date of May 31, 2016. Diana Enters Time Charter Contract With Glencore

Greek dry bulk ship owner Diana Shipping announced it entered into a time charter contract with Glencore Grain B.V., Rotterdam for one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels. The vessel in question is the 77,901 dwt MV Ismene, which was hired at a gross charter rate of $ 5,850 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties. The charter commenced on August 7. The 2013-built  Panamax dry bulk vessel was chartered for a period of about ten to thirteen months. The employment is anticipated to generate approximately $1.67mln of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter. Diana Shipping Inc. has announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it entered into a time charter contract with Nidera S.P.A., Roma, for one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Oceanis. The gross charter rate is US$5,200 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum nine (9) months to maximum eleven (11) months. The charter is expected to commence immediatey. The “Oceanis” is a 75,211 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessel built in 2001. Diana Shipping Inc., through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into a time charter contract with SwissMarine Services S.A., Geneva, for one of its Ice Class Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Crystalia. The gross charter rate is US$6,250 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum eleven (11) months to maximum fourteen (14) months. The charter is expected to commence tomorrow. The “Crystalia” is a 77,525 dwt Ice Class Panamax dry bulk vessel built in 2014. Diana Shipping Contract for Thetis

Diana Shipping Inc. through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into a time charter contract with Transgrain Shipping B.V., Rotterdam, for one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Thetis. The gross charter rate is US$5,150 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum ten months to about thirteen months. The charter is expected to commence on June 16, 2016. The “Thetis” is a 73,583 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessel built in 2004. Diana Fixes Bulker with Quadra

Diana Shipping Inc. today announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it entered into a time charter contract with Quadra Commodities S.A., Geneva, for one of its Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Medusa. Diana Acquires Panamax Bulker

Diana Shipping Inc. today announced that through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has taken delivery of the m/v Selina (formerly “Sunshine”), a 2010 built Panamax dry bulk vessel of 75,700 dwt that the Company entered into an agreement to purchase in February 2016. Diana Shipping Inc. Diana Shipping Announces Time Charter Contract for Protefs with Transgrain

Diana Shipping has  chartered the 73,630 dwt, 2004-built panamax, Protefs to Transgrain shipping for 12 – 16 months at a rate of $4,500 per day minus 5% commission. This employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$1.55 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter. Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet currently consists of 43 dry bulk vessels (2 Newcastlemax, 14 Capesize, 3 Post-Panamax, 4 Kamsarmax and 20 Panamax). Diana Shipping Signs US$75.7 mln Term Loan Facility

Diana Shipping Acquires Capesize Bulker

Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, has announced that yesterday it signed, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement to acquire from an unaffiliated third party the m/v Churchill Bulker, a 2011 built Capesize dry bulk vessel of 179,362 dwt, for a purchase price of $28.5 million. Diana Shipping Nets $ 17.4 mln 3Q Loss

Diana Shipping Inc. today reported a net loss of $17.4 million and net loss attributed to common stockholders of $18.8 million for the third quarter of 2015, compared to net income of $7.7 million and net income attributed to common stockholders of $6.3 million reported in the third quarter of 2014. Time charter revenues were $38.9 million for the third quarter of 2015, compared to $45.1 million for the same quarter of 2014. The decrease in time charter revenues was mainly due to decreased time charter rates in the quarter and was partly offset by revenues derived from the increase in ownership days resulting from the enlargement of our fleet.
