COMPA Repairs inks Ship Repair Service Partnership Agreements

COMPA Repairs signed three partnership agreements to establish a ship repair service network which now includes Greece, Cyprus, Hungary, Latin and South America shipping markets. Signed agreements with marine companies from these markets (and combined with previous ones) is helping it to establish a service network of durable cost-efficient on-board ships’ repairs worldwide.The three new agreemens include: Oceantech Shipping & Trading Ltd. offers technical support & spare parts solutions to the international shipping market.

Cepsa, Exxonmobil Renew Marine Lubricant Pact

Spanish multinational oil and gas company Compañía Española de Petróleos (Cepsa) has renewed its agreement with ExxonMobil for the manufacture, distribution and supply of Mobil-brand marine lubricants in more than 130 ports in Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar.Cepsa produces MobilGard lubricants at its plant in San Roque (Cadiz). The company serves as an official distributor in the Iberian market for a variety of marine vessels, including ocean-going vessels, coastal navigation vessels, merchant ships, fishing and recreational vessels.Cepsa sells more than 90 products within the Mobil lubricants range and supplies nearly a thousand marine vessels annually.ExxonMobil’s marine lubricants offer a complete range of high-quality products that help protect engines and equipment…

Cosco Completes US$3bn Peru Port Deal

Hong Kong-based international port operator Cosco Shipping Ports has completed the equity transaction of project company responsible for its greenfield subsidiary at the Port of Chancay, Peru.With the equitytransaction of the Project Company was officially completed on 10 May 2019, Port of Chancay became the company’s first greenfield subsidiary in South America and COSCO Shipping Ports plans to developing the port to an important gateway port in South America.In January 2019, Cosco signed a subscription and investment agreement with Volcan to acquire a 60% stake in the facility, which is located 58 kilometres north of the Peru’s capital…

Cosco Shipping Buys 60% Stake Peru's Chancay Terminal

Global ports operator Cosco Shipping Ports acquiring 60% stake in Terminales Portuarios Chancay (Chancay Terminal) from Volcan Compañía Minera for a total consideration of US$225million.Zhang Wei, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Cosco Shipping Ports and  José Picasso, Chairman of Volcan signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties.The ceremony was witnessed by Mercedes Aráoz, Vice President of Peru,  Xiao Yaqing, Chairman of State-owned Asset Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, PRC, among others.Cosco Shipping Ports will partner with Volcan to build Chancay Terminal into an important gateway port in Peru.

APMT Takes Stake in Cartagena Terminal

APM Terminals and Colombian-based port and terminal operating company, Compañia de Puertos Asociados S.A. (Compas S.A.) have finalized the incorporation of Cartagena Container Terminal Operator (CCTO), a new joint venture which will manage and operate Compas S.A.’s existing multipurpose facility in Cartagena, Colombia. APM Terminals will hold a 51% majority share in the operation, which includes annual throughput capacities of 250,000 TEUs and 1.5 million tons of general cargo. “We are proud to expand the APM Terminals Global Terminal Network into this important South American market in partnership with such a highly respected business as Compas SA, and we look forward to building upon their achievements in the port of Cartagena” said APM Terminals CEO Kim Fejfer. Ballast Piping Renewal using Carbon Fibers

The renewal of the water ballast piping in a total quantity of more than 500 meters on board a bulk carrier of a major Croatian ship owner was conducted by as2con-alveus ltd. The ballast piping was repaired using the composite material overlay method COMPA. COMPA features lamination of a damaged pipe surface using carbon fiber-reinforced plastics. The repair plan and materials presented in the technical documentation were approved by the Croatian Register of Shipping and accepted by Bureau Veritas. Repair was performed during a drydocking at Viktor Lenac, Croatia from April 7-19, 2010.
