Software developer Northport Systems Inc. has announced the latest enhancement to its innovative Fugawi Marine 5 marine navigation software, Theyr Weather. Fugawi Marine 5 allows for simple download, management, and display of high-resolution weather data from the X-Traverse web service, eliminating the need to sift through low quality GRIB files from multiple, hard-to-find sources. Software Offers New Features

International Communications and Navigation Limited, provider of marine electronic navigation and DGPS services has released new versions of its electronic charting system software - Aldebaran II and Regulus II for the Windows NT operating system. An upgrade to the company's ECS software, Release II provides many new features such as the ability to read multiple electronic charts, store and display routes and voyages, and adjust light levels. The product, which is expected to be released this month, is - as with the company's previous releases - Y2K compliant.

MX Marine Introduces New GPS Products

Boatracs Presents ChartView At Workboat

Boatracs, a business unit of Advanced Remote Communication Solutions (ARCOMS) has formed a strategic alliance with Nobeltec Corp., a developer of charting and navigation software. Together, they will spotlight ChartView Celestial Mariner, Boatracs' and Nobletec's nautical charting navigation and communications software, which was presented at the 1999 Fish Expo in Seattle during November. The product was shown again at the International Workboat Show in New Orleans in December. ChartView is a complete electronic charting and navigation solution for the marine navigator. It includes all the renowned planning and navigation features that mariners need, while offering auto-pilot controls, an integrated captain's log and the GPS Data Manager.

Hunter Marine Chooses MarineCFO Solutions

Hunter Marine's Operations Division has selected MarineCFO’s Vessel 365 fleet optimization technology, along with Endurance Personnel for managing time cards, scheduling and personnel reporting functions, and Endurance Maintenance, a complete maintenance solution from scheduling, outside services and capacity planning to quality control. Sperry Marine Receives CMM Level 3 Rating on Software

Northrop Grumman Corporation's Sperry Marine business unit has received a significant Process Maturity Level rating in an assessment conducted by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI). The assessment was performed on the software engineering processes for integrated navigation systems and ship machinery control systems. In accordance with the SEI-licensed Capability Maturity Model (CMM) based appraisal for Internal Process Improvement (IPI), the assessment team concluded that the overall Sperry Marine software engineering process was at the Defined (Level 3) Process Maturity Level. The Software Engineering Institute is a federally funded research and development center sponsored by the U.S.

Sperry Marine Gets Contract For Ship Navigation Services

Northrop Grumman Corporation's Sperry Marine unit has won a U.S. Navy contract worth up to $27.2 million to provide engineering and technical support for integrated ship navigation and control systems. The three-year contract, awarded by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, will run through September 2004. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract includes engineering services and technical support for installed systems, spare parts, hardware and software upgrades, logistics and maintenance support, labor and material. The contract supports Sperry Marine's integrated navigation and ship control technology.

Rolls-Royce, Inmarsat Sign Ink Energy Management Deal

Sperry Marine to Supply IBS for Destroyers
