Boluda Towage SL on Thursday signed an agreement to acquire Iskes Towage & Salvage's port towage activities in Eemshaven, the Netherlands; Lubeck, Germany; and Lisbon, Portugal, as well as its offshore activities, together with the management and office staff in the head office in IJmuiden, the Netherlands.Iskes will remain a separate entity under Boluda's headquarters in Valencia, Spain, and it will continue to manage the aforementioned harbor towage activities. Damen Delivers New Tug to Iskes

On May 25 in IJmuiden, the Netherlands, Damen Shipyards Group delivered an ASD Tug 2312 named Jupiter to Iskes. The vessel will operate in the ports of IJmuiden and Amsterdam carrying out regular port towage duties and the tug is also capable of handling (crane) barges.Damen signed the contract for the vessel with Iskes in July 2018, at the ITS Marseille and developed the ASD Tug 2312 together with Iskes.Damen sales manager Joost van der Weiden said, “Iskes gave us a lot of valuable input for the design of this new class of tug.

Iskes Towage Names Damen ASD Tugs 3212 ‘Mars’ and ‘Mercurius’

Two of Iskes Towage’s vessels, the Damen ASD Tugs 3212 Mars and Mercurius, have been officially named at a ceremony held at IJmuiden Port, Amsterdam.The naming formed part of an event held to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of Iskes Towage & Salvage, which was formed by Ben Iskes, the father of current owner Jim Iskes, in 1968.The Mars was named by Elisabeth Post, Deputy for Transport and Traffic for the Province of North Holland, and the Mercurius by Miss Annick Vergouwen, daughter of managing director Ronald Vergouwen.The celebrations were also attended by Iskes staff, clients and many other associates who have worked alongside the company over the years.

Tug Crew Gives Builder Invaluable Feedback

Iskes Towage & Salvage took delivery of a new Damen ASD 2411 in November 2015. In its first 100 days, the tug has been performing vessel assistance duties in the locks and canals around the Dutch Ports of Amsterdam and IJmuiden. Three months after delivery of the Venus, the captain and crew give their comments about the new member of the fleet. Home to a cross-section of industries, the two ports see a wide variety of vessel types and sizes. For Iskes Managing Director Jim Iskes, combining power with minimal dimensions was an important factor.

NAUTIS Simulators for Amsterdam Tug & OSV Training Center

Iskes Towage & Salvage signed an agreement with VSTEP for the delivery of two NAUTIS Tug and Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV) simulators. These simulators are the first units purchased for the new Iskes / Damen Training Center, set up in the new office building of Iskes at the port entrance to the ports of the Amsterdam Northsea canal area, close to Schiphol Airport. VSTEP will initially provide a 360-degree NAUTIS Full Mission Tug Simulator and a 240-degree NAUTIS Desktop Trainer to the Iskes/Damen Training Center.

Damen Launches its First Ever Hybrid Tug

ASD Tug 2810 Hybrid cuts fuel and emissions by at least 20%. Damen Shipyards has launched its first ever hybrid tug - the ASD Tug 2810 Hybrid - and is proud to announce that Iskes Towage & Salvage will be the launching customer. The signing ceremony took place today (October 23), at Offshore Energy in Amsterdam. The pioneering Dutch shipyard group is believed to be the only yard worldwide building hybrid tugs for stock. The second hybrid vessel will be available from stock end-2013.
