JES Inks $1 Billion USD Newbuilding Deal

Mainboard-listed JES International Holdings Limited announced that the Group has successfully secured contract plus options worth close to US$1.0 billion, continuing on their successive contract wins earlier in 2014. “We are pleased to announce that we have just secured our largest contract to date, marking our fourth contract win in under 5 months. JES International Kickstarts Maiden Offshore Project

Mainboard-listed JES International Holdings Limited, a private shipbuilding group based in the PRC, announced that the group has commenced the steel cutting for its first two Platform Support Vessels (PSV) at its shipyard located in Jingjiang City, China. According to the builder, the UT 755 LN Platform Support Vessel is of a sophisticated and well known design, utilizing a comprehensive package from Rolls Royce which includes design and engineering services, as well as all main equipment. The vessels have a capacity of approximately 3,100 deadweight metric tons and a length of 77 meters, built under DNV classification. JES secured a total of four PSVs in the fourth quarter of 2012 from a customer based in Norway - Vega Offshore Management AS.

Singapore's JES Holdings' PSV Newbuild Option Taken Up

JES International Holdings Limited reports Norwegian customer has exercised option for four more UT 755 LN Platform Support Vessels (PSV's). The ships will be delivered in early 2015.
 “The group is thrilled that our expansion plans into the offshore space have taken off, and is making good progress. As the requirements for offshore shipbuilding are much more stringent, the group will be making strides in our technical capabilities as well as yard management,” said Jin Xin, chairman and ceo of JES.

China Shipyard Tackles First PSV Order

JES International subisidiaries JES Universal Co. and Jiangsu Eastern Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. to build a UT 755 LN Platform Support Vessel. The contract is the Group’s first, in over thirty years of its history, for the construction of an offshore support vessel and is representative of the Group’s expansion from building commercial shipping vessels to constructing more complicated and sophisticated offshore support vessels. ABS Elects New Council

At the 150th Annual Meeting of the Members of ABS, three industry leaders were elected to the ABS Council. Following the Annual Meeting, the ABS Council met and elected industry leaders to both its Marine and Offshore Technical Committees. Individuals serving on the ABS Council and the Technical Committees help guide the class society in fulfilling its mission of promoting the security of life, property and the natural environment. “Classification represents the concept of self-regulation for the marine and offshore industry,” said ABS President and CEO Christopher J.
