MAN, Hyundai to Develop LPG Dual-fuel Engines

MAN Diesel & Turbo said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hyundai Heavy Industries Engine & Machinery Division (HHI-EMD) for the development and production of MAN B&W ME-LGIP dual-fuel engines. Upon completion, HHI-EMD will be able to deliver liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fuelled, two-stroke-propulsion engines. With the MoU, LPG joins the list of liquid, environmentally-friendly fuels that can power MAN Diesel & Turbo’s portfolio of two-stroke, dual-fuel engines, which are available from all licensees.

MAN D&T Expands in Chinese Two-Stroke Market

At a ceremony in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province on January 16, 2016, local engine builder Yuchai Marine Power Co., Ltd. (YCMP) signed a new license agreement with MAN Diesel & Turbo for the production of MAN B&W-branded, two-stroke diesel engines. Jiang Shihong, Chairman of the Board and Hu Xuenan, CEO, represented YCMP, while MAN Diesel & Turbo was represented by Thomas S. Knudsen – Head of Two-Stroke, Ole Grøne – Senior Vice President, Two-Stroke Promotion & Sales, and Klaus Engberg – Senior Vice President and Head of Two-Stroke Licensing. Engberg said, “China is a vital market for MAN Diesel & Turbo and we are pleased to welcome Yuchai to the MAN B&W license family.

China’s CMP Renews MAN 4-stroke License Deal

CSSC Marine Power Co., Ltd. (CMP), an engine-manufacturing division of Chinese State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), has renewed its contract with MAN Diesel & Turbo for another 10 years of production of four-stroke medium speed engines. MAN, CSIC Extend Two-stroke Agreement

MAN Diesel & Turbo renewed its contract with Chinese two-stroke licensee, China Shipbuilding Industry Corp. (CSIC). Signed at a ceremony in Beijing on February 3, 2015, the agreement runs for the next 10 years and covers the production of low-speed engines at CSIC affiliates: Dalian Marine Diesel Co., Ltd (DMD), Yichang Marine Diesel Engine Co., Ltd (YMD), Qingdao Haixi Marine Diesel Co., Ltd (QMD). MAN Diesel & Turbo Extends CSSC Relationship

MAN Diesel & Turbo renewed its contract with Chinese two-stroke licensee, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) at a ceremony in Beijing on February 2, 2015. The agreement runs for the next 10 years and covers the production of low-speed engines at CSSC affiliates: CSSC – MES Diesel Co., Ltd (CMD), Hudong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd (HHM) and CSSC Marine Power Co., Ltd (CMP). License Agreement Signed by MAN Diesel & Turbo at SMM

On Tuesday September 9, 2014 at Hamburg’s SMM Marine trade fair, MAN Diesel & Turbo signed a new license agreement with QMD, a member of the CSIC Group together with Dalian Marine Diesel Co., Ltd. and Yichang Marine Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. In the process, QMD became MAN Diesel & Turbo’s 12th Chinese licensee. QMD (Qingdao Haixi Marine Diesel Co., Ltd) can boast of a modern facility dedicated to the production of large, two-stroke engines in NE China. For over 30 years, we have had a successful license agreement with CSIC, which QMD belongs to, and we look forward to an equally fruitful cooperation with our new licensee,” Engberg added.

New Two-Stroke Licensee for MAN Diesel & Turbo

On June 15, MAN Diesel & Turbo added another two-stroke licensee to its roster at a signing ceremony in China with CSSC Guangzhou Marine Engine Co. Ltd. (GMD). An off-shoot of the state-owned CSSC Group, GMD is based close to the major Chinese city of Guangzhou and the special administrative region of Hong Kong, and has undertaken to produce 3 million hp of engines in an initial building period. Construction will take place at a purpose-built facility that will begin production at the beginning of 2012.
