Borr Drilling Deploys IFS Applications

The global enterprise applications company IFS announced that international offshore drilling contractor Borr Drilling has deployed IFS Applications to improve operations and optimize its IT landscape.The enterprise software company said in a press release that the go-live is part of an implementation that will see IFS Applications rolled out to 10 oil rigs and over 1,000 users by January 2019.Borr Drilling, with a fleet of 36 rigs, 9 of which are currently under construction,  decided to replace its incumbent business systems to support its goal of becoming the world’s leading provider of jack-up drills and drilling services, and to strengthen the efficiency of its international operations…

MMA Offshore Posts 55.8% YoY Profit Increase

MMA Offshore, the company born from the merger of Mermaid Marine Australia and Jaya Holdings in June 2014, posted a net profit of $37.7 million for the half year that ended on December 31, 2014. This represents a 55.8% increase over the same half-year in 2013 for what was formerly Mermaid Marine Australia. Australian Ports on Tropical Cyclone Alert

The ports of Port Hedland, Broome and Dampier have advised of precautions being taken in light of a Tropical Low which is expected to develop into a Tropical Cyclone last night. The Tropical Low is positioned just east of Derby and tracking WSW'ly towards the coast. The low is now expected to move over open water and develop into a Tropical Cyclone later tonight, before tracking parallel to the Pilbara coast during Tuesday (20 January). Port Hedland's Harbour Master advises that the port will commence anchorage evacuation this morning and inner harbour evacuations this afternoon following scheduled sailings on the morning high tide. Terminals are to liaise with PPA to identify vessels that will cease cargo and require re-berthing after all clear.

Mermaid Marine Fleet Adds Two Newbuilds

Mermaid Marine Australia Limited announced that the company has this week delivered two newbuild vessels into its international fleet; Jaya Majestic, an Anchor Handing Tug Supply vessel (AHTS) and Jaya Victory, a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV). Jaya Majestic, a high specification 78m DP-2 AHTS, was built at one of MMA’s Jaya shipyards in South East Asia. The vessel is the first new build to be delivered following MMA’s acquisition of 100% of Jaya Holdings’ subsidiaries earlier this year. The Singapore flagged Jaya Majestic is ideally suited to supporting jack-up rigs, semi-submersible rigs, Floating Production Storage Offloading facilities (FPSOs) and offshore construction spreads.

Mermaid Kohler Range to Be Launched

Mermaid Marine is to launch a new range of diesel engines, the Mermaid Kohler. The partnership between U.K. diesel engine marinizer Mermaid Marine and Kohler expands Poole based Mermaid Marine’s offering to smaller inboard engines with the company now able to supply engines from 31kW to 376kW. It has come about through Mermaid Marine’s parent company, Power Torque’s work with JCB which has partnered with Kohler’s Global Power Group to use the Italian manufactured engines in several of its compact machine lines in what the company terms the next stage of its engine strategy.

Jaya Delivers AHTS Vessel for Mermaid Marine

Offshore marine services provider Jaya, now part of Mermaid Marine Australia Ltd. (MMA), today delivered Jaya Majestic, a new state-of-the-art anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel into MMA’s international fleet. Jaya Majestic was built at the company’s Singapore shipyard and is the first vessel to be delivered following the acquisition of 100% of Jaya Holdings’ subsidiaries by MMA earlier this year. MMA is Australia’s largest marine services provider to the offshore oil and gas industry.

Eleven Models Now Available from JCB

Mermaid Marine has increased its range of JCB Dieselmax marine diesel engines. The company, based in Poole, now has eleven models available in the JCB TCAE range ranging from 55kW / 74hp to 120kW / 160hp suitable for a large variety of applications, with the smaller engines particularly suitable for the grant funded repower market. Mermaid Marine to Buy Jaya Offshore Businesses

Reutrs - Australian marine logistics firm Mermaid Marine Australia Ltd. said on Tuesday it had agreed to buy the offshore businesses of Singapore's Jaya Holdings Ltd. for $495.96 million in cash to expand its international portfolio. Mermaid Marine, a Perth-based company which provides vessel and supply base services to offshore oil and gas explorers, will expand its scale in the Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets through the acquisition, the company said in a statement. The acquired businesses include 27 vessels currently operating in South East Asia, the Middle East and East and West Africa, two shipyards in Indonesia and Singapore, and a new build pipeline of six vessels for delivery by 2015.

MMA Ink OSV Charter with BHP Billiton Petroleum

Mermaid Marine Australia Limited (MMA) awarded offshore marine support contract for FPSO operations off NW coast of Australia. The vessel to service the contract, the Mermaid Cove is currently under construction in Singapore, and will commence operations in 2013 in the meantime, Mermaid Supporter will act as lead in vessel until the Mermaid Cove is delivered. The contract, with a value in excess of A$50 million is for an initial period of five years, with contract upside should the two additional one year options be exercised by the Company. The Mermaid Cove is a 53m DP2 Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) and a sister ship to the 53m Mermaid Strait and 50m Mermaid Sound.

Drydocks World Delivers 5 Vessels

Drydocks World – Southeast Asia Pte. Limited (DDW-SEA), the Southeast Asian subsidiary of Drydocks World, announced the deliveries of vessels Endeavor, Greatship Ahalya, Mermaid Vision and Ark Dartmoor from their Drydocks World – Nanindah yard and Armada Tuah 104 from their Drydocks World – Pertama yard. The Endeavor, a fully pneumatic self discharge cement carrier designed by Shiptech Pte. Ltd. was delivered to Endeavor S.N.C., a subsidiary of Setaf Saget of France, a company of the Bourbon Group.

Mermaid Marine to Merge with P&O Maritime Services

Mermaid Marine Australia Ltd will merge with Dubai Ports World subsidiary P&O Maritime Services Pty Ltd through a share-trading arrangement. Mermaid will issue 221.9 million shares to DP World in return for 100 per cent of the shares in P&O Maritime Services Ltd and P&O Polar Australia Pty Ltd, subject to shareholder approval. The deal will result in DP World owning 60.4 per cent of Mermaid, with existing shareholders holding the remaining 39.4 per cent. Mermaid will also assume an additional $40 million of net debt initially in the form of debt due to DP World as part of the transaction.
