StealthGas Back to Black in 4Q

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier and tanker owner StealthGas has reported revenues of $38.4 mill in the fourth quarter of last year, an increase of 2.4% compared to 4Q16. The Greece-based company reported fourth-quarter net income of $748,000, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier. For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $1.2 million, or 3 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $154.3 million. StealthGas board chairman Michael Jolliffe Commented that the 4Q 2017 was mixed. "On the one hand we are pleased that our core market of small LPGs shows clear signs of improvement, which should continue to leverage our earnings.

StealthGas Achieves High Revenue

StealthGas, ship-owning company primarily serving the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sector of the international shipping industry, registered  an operational utilization of 97.3% in Q1 2017 (91.1% in Q1 2016), best performance since the beginning of 2014. Revenues for the three months ended March 31, 2017 amounted to $38.1 million, an increase of $1.6 million, or 4.4%, compared to revenues of $36.5 million for the three months ended March 31, 2016, due to increased fleet utilization and a slight increase in market rates. Board Chairman Michael Jolliffe said that his company's performance during the first quarter of 2017 leaves it cautiously optimistic for the future.

StealthGas Announces Newbuilds, New Vessel Contracts

StealthGas Inc., a ship-owning company primarily serving the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sector of the international shipping industry, announced today as part of its fleet expansion program the acquisition of two newbuilding LPG vessels. The company exercised the acquisition options with a Korean yard and the additions to the fleet consist of two 22,000 cbm semi refrigerated eco LPG carriers scheduled to be delivered in the second and third quarter of 2017, respectively. The company expects that the acquisition of these larger semi refrigerated eco LPG carriers that can load LPG with high ethane content, will complement well its already leading position in pressurized vessels.

Royal Olympic Considering Proposals

Royal Olympic Cruises Lines stated that a special committee of its outside directors has been considering proposals and alliances involving the company and/or its majority shareholder, ROC Holdings. Consisting of Bobby Melnick, Michael Jolliffe and Nicholas Pisaris, the committee is considering proposals such as a sale of a controlling interest in ROC Holdings that would not involve an offer to purchase the company's publicly held shares.
