Offshore installation firm McDermott said Monday that its upgraded Amazon vessel was coming to the Gulf of Mexico to support a subsea contract for the Whale Development in Alaminos Canyon.Oil major Shell in July reached a final investment decision for its Whale deepwater field development. BHP Taps McDermott for GoM Subsea Installation

Offshore installation company McDermott has won a contract with oil firm BHP for a marine installation campaign for the Shenzi Subsea Multiphase Pumping Project (SSMPP) in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.The project is located around 138 miles (222 kilometers) offshore in the Gulf of Mexico at a water depth of 4,400 feet (1341 meters)."We look forward to continuing our partnership with BHP through this latest contract award," said Mark Coscio, Senior Vice President for McDermott's North, Central, and South America region.

Petrobras Sets Record in Brazil

Consolidated Oil and Gas Petrobras in Brazil and abroad, production amounted to 2 million 795 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe) in October. This volume was 0.5% higher than in September, which was 2 million 781 thousand boe. Oil production in Brazil grew by 0.4% compared to September, and reaches a new high. Oil production from Petrobras in Brazil reached in October average of 2 million 126 thousand barrels / day (bpd), 0.4% higher than what occurred in September, 2 million 118 thousand bpd. This volume represents a new record, surpassing the previous high, reached in December 2010 at 4800 bpd. October was the ninth consecutive month of growth in oil production company in the country.

Oceaneering Exercise Charter Options on DP2 CSV

Oceanteam Shipping ASA says that Oceaneering International, Inc. has exercised both one year options on the CSV 'Bourbon Oceanteam 101' up to February 2017. The vessel will continue its field support services for work offshore Angola on blocks 18 and 31. Upon delivery in December 2007, this DP2 Construction Support Vessel has been operating as a field support vessel with BP Angola for the company's Greater Plutonium Field development (in Block 18). The first of the standard design North Ocean 100 series is jointly owned by Oceanteam Shipping and Bourbon Offshore Norway. The ship is 125 meters at length with a 27 meter beam. Helix to Provide McDermott ROV Services

Helix Energy says that its Robotics subsidiary, Canyon Offshore, Inc., has reached an agreement with a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc. to provide remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services and equipment for McDermott’s fleet of subsea construction and pipelay support vessels. The agreement is for a fixed term of three years with options to extend. Canyon will provide dual 3,000-meter ROV systems onboard McDermott vessels, which initially is expected to include the North Ocean 102, Lay Vessel North Ocean 105, Lay Vessel 108 and the Derrick Lay Vessel 2000. In addition Canyon will supply tooling, personnel and ROV project support to McDermott.

Rigid Reel-Lay Pipe-in-Pipe Installed Offshore Malaysia

McDermott International, Inc. reports that its subsidiary has become the first to install rigid reel-lay pipe-in-pipe in Asia-Pacific for the Siakap North-Petai (SNP) development project offshore Malaysia. At more than 3,900 feet (1,190 meters), the SNP development is one of the industry’s most challenging deepwater projects. “Successfully installing the rigid reeled pipe-in-pipe flowlines on the Siakap project is a significant achievement for McDermott and a first for the region,” said David Dickson, President and Chief Executive Officer, McDermott.

McDermott Signs Agreement for North Sea Spoolbase

McDermott International, Inc. announced that one of its subsidiaries has signed an option agreement with PD Ports which gives it the exclusive right to operate a spoolbase to serve projects in the North Sea. McDermott expects to have the facility available for projects in early 2015. Located in Hartlepool, in northeast United Kingdom, the spoolbase is expected to support McDermott’s reentry into the North Sea Reel-Lay market. The Port of Hartlepool is a well-established working port with a history of fabrication for the oil and gas industry and has excellent access from harbor to the open sea.

McDermott Wins Subsea Contract for Petrobras

McDermott International, Inc. (NYSE:MDR) announced that one of its subsidiaries has entered into an agreement with Petrobras for a short term charter to supply its subsea construction vessel North Ocean 102 (“NO102”). The NO102 will carry out deepwater umbilical and flexible pipe installation offshore Brazil and is expected to begin work during the third quarter of 2014. Subsea North Sea Pipelay Alliance Agreed

Ocean Installer & leading offshore engineering & construction company McDermott establish alliance to meet rigid pipelay needs in the North Sea subsea market. The alliance marks McDermott’s re-entry into the North Sea and establishes Ocean Installer as a tier one North Sea contractor by adding rigid pipelay to the company’s capabilities. McDermott Order Deepwater S-Lay Vessel

McDermott International inks contract with Keppel Offshore & Marine for construction of a dynamically-positioned combination S-Lay vessel with a 2,000-ton crane. The vessel, tentatively named Derrick Lay Vessel 2000 (“DLV2000”), will be constructed at Keppel Singmarine in Singapore and is expected to take approx 2.5 years to build. “DLV2000 is expected to address a market demand we consider to be extremely robust for deepwater pipelines as well as our traditional markets,” said Stephen M. Johnson, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. Developed by Keppel’s ship design arm, Marine Technology Development (MTD), DLV2000 is equipped to support advanced deepwater pipelay operations that will allow pipelines to be installed at depths of up to 10,000 feet.

McDermott Wins Jack and St. Malo Subsea Project

Long Term Contract for CSV North Ocean 102

Oceanteam Power & Umbilical ASA has signed a long term agreement with the Mexican Offshore Construction and IMR Company CICSA for a minimum period of 5 years plus options. The contract consists of the CSV North Ocean 102 and Oceanteam additional services supporting the contract. Oceanteam will support CICSA on a project by project basis with its range of services including engineering, subsea support and installation services.
