Rosneft, Hyundai Samho Strengthen Technological Cooperation

Rosneft and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (HSHI) signed an agreement under which the South Korean company will provide technical support in the design and construction of Aframax class vessels at the Zvezda shipyard in Bolshoy Kamen. The agreement is a legally binding document. The document was signed as a part of the development of the agreement, under which a joint venture "Zvezda-Hyundai" was established  in May 2017 between Shipbuilding Complex Zvezda and HSHI in the field of engineering and project management. Under the agreement, HSHI provides a list of technical support for the joint venture   forthe design and construction of Aframax type tankers, including those using capable of running on natural gas.

Yangzijiang Bags Orders for Six VLOCs

China’s biggest private shipbuilder Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Holdings Ltd has won orders for six dry bulk carriers worth a combined US$510 million. The 400,000 DWT very large ore carriers (VLOCs) are the largest dry bulk carriers ever awarded to the group, the shipbuilder announced on Wednesday (April 13). The six vessels will also be the largest VLOCs that Yangzijiang will be building till date. The VLOCs are scheduled for delivery from 2018 to 2019. The orders were placed by ICBC Leasing,  "marking a rare case where a state-owned ship owner in China places orders with a private shipyard", the company added. ICBC Leasing is a wholly owned subsidiary of ICBC, China’s biggest state-owned bank.

Wilhelmsen Ships Service: Mastering Complex Logistics

From racing boats to steel pipelines, windmill blades to massive hydraulic hammers, Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) says its personnel in the Middle East can move just about anything, anywhere. Last summer, WSS was contracted to source ocean transportation options for the return of offshore marine equipment from the United Arab Emirates to Germany. The cargo consisted of 10 packages of pile driving accessories for onshore and offshore installation, including 13 meters long, 123 metric ton hydraulic hammer.

McDermott to Auction Fabrication Yard Assets

A joint venture of five industrial auction companies will sell the physical assets of the 300-acre McDermott fabrication facility in Amelia, La. McDermott continues to operate its other fabrication facilities at multiple locations worldwide. The auction of thousands of assets starts September 8, 2014 and will be conducted throughout the complex via a multiday onsite/online public auction sale. The auction will feature an extensive offering of unique offshore marine equipment, barges, winches and pumps; a wide assortment of high quality, large capacity fabrication machinery; late model welding machinery; a large offering of mobile equipment including four 300-ton capacity crawler cranes; more than 60 overhead bridge cranes up to 40 ton capacity; and thousands of  plant support equipment.
