With the pressure on to train seafarers in the use of ECDIS, the online simulation training company Safebridge is in negotiation with various ECDIS suppliers to offer online, type-specific ECDIS training based on the ECDIS manufacturer’s own software. The latest manufacturer to sign a cooperation agreement with Safebridge is Raytheon Anschütz, a leading supplier of navigation systems to both merchant and naval vessels. Safebridge is an innovative online training company specialising in type-specific simulation training solutions for the maritime industry. The company was created to meet the demand for ECDIS training contained in the new STCW 2012 and ISM Code regulations.
