Gazprom Lead Oil and Gas Growth Worldwide

Russian giant Gazprom saw the most production growth among world’s exploration and production (E&P) companies during the five-year span from 2014 through 2018.It’s followed by Chinese player PetroChina Company Limited and U.S. shale company EQT Corporation ranking second and third, respectively, said energy research firm Rystad Energy.Onshore resources – whether conventional or unconventional – are a major driver of growth, it said.“Gazprom, the clear leader in production growth, is the only company with a total growth of more than 1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) over the last five years,” said Espen Erlingsen, Rystad’s head of upstream research.

Qatargas, PetroChina Sign 22-Years LNG Supply Deal

Qatargas, the world’s largest LNG producer,  has announced a long-term Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with PetroChina International Company Limited, a unit of PetroChina Company Limited (PetroChina), to supply China with around 3.4 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per annum.Under the 22-year SPA, which ends in 2040, Qatargas will supply LNG from the Qatargas 2 project, a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Total, to different receiving terminals across China, with the first cargo to be delivered to the People's Republic of China later this month.Commenting on this landmark agreement, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi…

Ice-Breaking LNG Carrier Vladimir Rusanov First Call at PetroChina LNG Jiangsu Terminal

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced that the Ice-Breaking LNG Carrier "Vladimir Rusanov", which is jointly owned by MOL and China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited for the Yamal LNG project, made its first call at PetroChina LNG Jiangsu Terminal in China on 17 July.A ceremony celebrating this milestone was held on 19 July.At the end of March 2018, the vessel started transportation services for LNG produced by the Yamal LNG plant at Sabetta port in Russia. For its latest voyage, the vessel departed from Sabetta port on 25 June, and had its first opportunity to navigate independently eastwards along the Northern Sea Route without ice-breaker support.The vessel passed the Bering Strait on 6 July, and safely made its first call at PetroChina LNG Jiangsu Terminal in China on 17 July.

LNG Carrier BEIDOU STAR Delivered

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. today announced the successful delivery of the LNG carrier BEIDOU STARfrom Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. (Hudong) on November 30. The BEIDOU STAR is the third ship in a series of four new-build LNG carriers that will provide transportation services on long-term charter, for ExxonMobil’s LNG interests in Papua New Guinea and Australia (*1). Before the delivery, the naming ceremony was held at the Hudong shipyard on November 6. This ship building project marks a number of “firsts” – the first use of a Chinese shipyard by a foreign shipping company, the first time for a Chinese Energy major PetroChina Company Limited to participate in an LNG transport project…

Qatar Petroleum, Shell, Petrochina Agreement

Qatar Petroleum (QP) on behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar has signed a new Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) with Shell and PetroChina Company Limited (PetroChina) for Qatar Block D. The agreement was signed in Doha by His Excellency Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry, Peter Voser, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Shell plc, and Mr. Zhao Dong, Chief Financial Officer of PetroChina International Investment Company Limited. Under the agreement, the partners will jointly explore for natural gas in Block D. Block D covers an area of 8,089 square kilometres onshore and offshore Qatar and is located close to Ras Laffan. The Block D concession is for pre-Khuff geological intervals.
