Duisburg to Open New Trimodal Terminal

The largest trimodal  container terminal in the European hinterland is being developed in the Port of Duisburg.Duisburger Hafen AG (duisport) is set to build a US$111.2mln  new 220,000 m² trimodal container terminal on the site of its current coal island in response to a sharp decline in coal handling as a result of the energy transformation.The trimodal terminal is to be developed with duisport’s intermodal partners COSCO Shipping Logistics, Hupac SA and HTS Group and aims to handle the port’s booming trade with China in particular.This is duisport's response to the sharp decline in coal handling resulting from the energy transformation. In the future, duisport will instead use the coal island in particular to handle the booming trade with China.

World's largest inland port selects KONGSBERG Multibeam Echo sounder

Port of Duisburg, World's largest inland port today selected KONGSBERG Multibeam Echo sounder as part of the upgradation of their survey capability which presently uses a single beam echosounder. The Port of Duisburg is located at the confluence of Rhine and Ruhr two major shipping arteries that link central European industry as well as consumers to the seaports on the North Sea coast. ccupying an area of 3350 acres including 21 basins with a total size of 450 acres, the Port of Duisburg moves more than 120 million tons of goods per year. CMA CGM Group Railroad Shuttle, Zeebrugge to Duisburg

The CMA CGM Group is pleased to announce the reinforcement of its intermodal offer with the introduction of a railroad service, connecting Zeebrugge’s port and Duisburg’s tri-modal hub, which started mid-June.   This fifth shuttle, the only one on the market, completes CMA CGM’s intermodal offer. Already linked to the CHZ Terminal at Zeebrugge 4 times a week, the D3T Terminal at Duisburg is now connected to Zeebrugge’s APMT terminal thanks to this new service.
