NOAA Honors MOL

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL)  is pleased to announce that the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary has honored MOL with an award for the company's participation in the 2016 Vessel Speed Reduction (VSR) incentive program. Launched in 2016 by NOAA's Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District, Ventura County Air Pollution Control District, National Marine Sanctuary Foundation and Volgenau Foundation, the VSR program is a voluntary program that incentivizes containerships to slow down to speed at or below 12 knots, thereby reducing air pollution and enhancing protection of endangered whales in the Santa Barbara Channel.

Armstrong Named VP MOL (America)

MOL (America) Inc. welcomed Ronnie Armstrong to the position of vice president, area operations. He leads MOL (America) Inc.’s vessel and equipment management, intermodal services, contract management, and cost control and planning groups for the United States and Canada and has functional accountability for operations in Mexico and the Caribbean. He reports to Richard Craig, President & CEO, MOL (America) Inc. Armstrong joins MOL (America) Inc. after 20 years in the container shipping industry, including experience serving as a head of intermodal operations along with responsibility for West Coast terminals. Checchi Named VP at MOL America

MOL (America) Inc. said that Michael Checchi will enter the position of vice president, area operations, where he will lead MOL’s equipment, intermodal services, contract management, and operations administration groups for the United States and Canada. He will report to Richard Craig, executive vice president for sales and operations. Checchi served as the director of intermodal operations for OOCL for the past 13 years where he directed rail and motor carrier services procurement. He has also served in various operations roles with Matson Intermodal System, Inc. and APL Land Transport Services. MOL America Announces Corporate Sales Changes

MOL (America) Inc. issued a release announcing several changes to its North American sales management, including the promotion of Richard Craig to the position of executive vice president, sales and operations. Additionally, Richard Jung, who currently assistant vice president of sales, central region, has been appointed to assume the duties of vice president of sales in replacing Dennis Sheehan, vice president of sales, who has decided to leave MOL (America) Inc. to pursue other opportunities.

MOL, Changes to N America Sales Team

MOL (America) Inc.’s Product Management Team has announced changes to its North America Sales Management. Effective immediately, Dennis Sheehan, Vice President Atlantic Services will direct MOL’s sales activities in the US Northeast, Midwest and Southeast regions, while Jim Galligan, Vice President Pacific Services will lead sales activities in the US Western States and Mexico. In their new assignments both gentlemen will report directly to Thomas M. Kelly, Executive Vice president and Chief Operating Officer for North America Area Management. MOL’s Product Management Team also includes Stephen Ryan, Vice President North America Customer Service and Richard Craig, Vice President Area Operations.
