Fugro Offshore Geotechnics are specialists in marine site investigation and geo-consulting, and Gregg Marine, Inc., in seabed robotic drilling. The new J/V company, SGL will combine the extensive offshore drilling and testing expertise of both parent companies, with the robotic seabed systems developed by Gregg Marine, providing an enhanced seabed-based drilling and soil investigation capability to 3,000m water depth. For Fugro, this signals its entrance into the seabed drill marketplace, to complement its extensive fleet of conventional geotechnical drilling platforms, providing a compelling option for oil and gas companies, mineral and mining companies and the scientific community.
