OceanWorks Receives Highest Marks from USN

OceanWorks International has again been authorized by the U.S. Navy’s Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Note 5000 to perform Deep Submergence Systems Scope of Certification (DSS SOC) work in support of designated submarine rescue and intervention systems. The authorization is a renewal of the existing Note 5000 authorization which has been held by OceanWorks International since September 8th, 2011. OceanWorks International again receives authorization from U.S. Navy to perform Deep Submergence Systems Scope of Certification (DSS SOC) work. OceanWorks International has again been authorized by the U.S. Navy’s Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Note 5000 to perform DSS SOC work in support of designated submarine rescue and intervention systems. OceanWorks International contracted to deliver additional seafloor nodes for CSnet International’s Offshore Communications Backbone (OCB). OceanWorks International Contracted for FORCE Tidal Energy System

OceanWorks International has been awarded a contract by the Fundy Ocean Research Center for Energy (FORCE) to instrument a cable termination for a ground breaking tidal energy project in the Bay of Fundy. The project includes the design, manufacture and integration of the subsea instrumentation, shore station, and commissioning. FORCE is deploying four power cables to connect prototype instream tidal turbines to a dedicated electrical sub-station. By providing this infrastructure, FORCE is lowering the ‘barrier to entry’ for turbine manufactures to test their equipment in one of the most demanding tidal environments. The planned deployment will take place in Atlantic Canada’s Bay of Fundy, which is renowned for having the highest tidal range in the world.

OceanWorks Names GM for Turkish Operations

US-based subsea technology company OceanWorks International names Billy McKeown as General Manager in Istanbul, Turkey. Billy Mckeown becomes General Manager for Aykor Teknolojik Ürünler Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi (OceanWorks Aykor) in Istanbul Turkey. As General Manager, his function will be to manage the organisation’s operations from the Istanbul location ensuring OceanWorks International and its new affiliate OceanWorks Aykor continue to deliver industry leading, high quality products and services to our customer base.

Ocean Works Sets Up Turkish Subsidiary

Sub-sea technology company, OceanWorks International, establishes OceanWorks Aykor as Its Turkey subsidiary. OceanWorks Aykor is a joint stock company established in Turkey by two organizations, OceanWorks International Corporation, and Aykor A.S. who has been OceanWorks International’s representative in Turkey since 1998 and a provider of complex systems to international military customers. OceanWorks Aykor will focus on the design and manufacture of technologies, systems and products for Subsea and Marine Engineering applications. These applications are to include ship systems related to submarine rescue ,diving systems including hyperbaric chambers and related systems, as well as custom designed and built solutions to meet customer requirements.

Subsea Dispersant Fluid System Contract for Ocean Works International

OceanWorks International has been awarded a design, manufacturing and test contract to provide Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC) with a Subsea Dispersant Fluid System (SDFS). The system will further enhance MWCC’s existing dispersant injection system, also developed and manufactured by OceanWorks International. The SDFS is designed to sit on the seabed in the proximity of a subsea well at depths of up to up to 10,000 feet (3,000 meters) and provides the capability to deliver dispersant fluid to a deepwater well control incident in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The system is designed to allow the dispersant flow to be provided by either a surface vessel or autonomously based on ROV provided flow input.

OceanWorks Delivers OCB Nodes to CapRock

OceanWorks Contracted by Harris CapRock Communications for the Delivery of Two High Power Nodes as an Expansion to the Successful OCB Project. OceanWorks International is pleased to announce the delivery of two (2) high power nodes to Harris CapRock Communications (HCC) as part of the Offshore Communications Backbone (OCB) system. The high power nodes represent an expansion of the successful OCB system which also includes the CSnet Tsunami Warning and Early Response Cyprus (TWERC) system off the southern coast of Cyprus.
