Russia’s Inability to Dominate the Sea has Changed the Course of the War in Ukraine

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine a year ago, most of the fighting has been on land. However, there has also been a less visible – but nonetheless crucial – maritime dimension to the war across the full spectrum of tactical, strategic, economic and diplomatic considerations.After land troops crossed the Ukraine border on February 24 2022, the Russian navy quickly secured control of the northwestern Black Sea. This meant it could contribute to the air campaign against Ukraine by launching cruise missiles from the sea.

Drechsel Joins Sea IT Technical Team

Adam Drechsel has joined the international team at the Sea IT headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.   Drechsel has a background in system development and networks. He has previously held positions as technical account manager and IT technician at Gotanet, an internet and telecommunications provider.

CNO Visits Chinese North Sea Fleet

Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. John Richardson visited Chinese North Sea Fleet headquarters, July 20 to meet with fleet commander Vice Adm. Yuan Yubai. The goal of the five-day trip is to improve mutual understanding and encourage professional interaction between the two navies. "This is an important time in a very important relationship," said Richardson. "As growing nations and global powers, our two navies will play a pivotal role in the direction this relationship takes. During the meeting with Yuan, CNO underscored the importance of lawful and safe operations in the South China Sea and elsewhere professional navies operate. He also reiterated that U.S. forces will continue to sail, fly and operate wherever international law allows--a point emphasized by U.S.

Russian Black Sea Fleet Voices Security Concern

The Staff of the Russian Black Sea Fleet said it faces information safety problems over plans to build a hotel in the immediate vicinity of its headquarters. The construction of a high-rise hotel building within 50 meters from the Black Sea Fleet headquarters in the Ukrainian city of Sevastopol is due to begin this year. “The fleet’s command is seriously concerned over plans to build a hotel near our headquarters,” a Black Sea Fleet source said. “Wiretapping and jamming equipment and can easily be installed in the hotel building.

Sea Tel Branding Change

The Sea Tel brand has changed with the addition of Cobham’s name to the new Sea Tel logo. Sea Tel’s products and service will remain the same, the only difference will be the new logo displayed on Sea Tel domes and wherever the Sea Tel name is displayed.
