Shell announced it is considering the sale of its Retail, Aviation and Supply and Distribution Downstream businesses in Italy. Shell’s non-service station Lubricants and Marine businesses are not part of this announcement. This announcement also has no impact on the Upstream and Gas and Power businesses in Italy. These businesses present strong growth opportunities for the company in Italy. The potential sale is consistent with Shell’s strategy to concentrate its global Downstream businesses where it can be most competitive. Recent examples include the sale of refineries in the U.K.

3 Rescued Off Port of St. Lucie
The Coast Guard rescued three people aboard a disabled boat approximately 12 miles east of Port of St. Lucie, Sunday. At approximately, 5 a.m., the crew of the tug McAllister Sister notified Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders of a red meteor flare from a 23-foot center console. Denmark introduces new regulation, simplifying the handling of medical supplies for survival craft and the handling of medicine on board Danish ships abroad. The requirement for ships’ medicine to be bought from a Danish pharmacy will be abolished when the new regulations become effective on 1 July 2018. This is a considerable advantage when ships located far from Denmark are switching to the Danish flag. The new regulations will also make it easier for Danish survival craft manufacturers and service stations to import the medicine required on board.

Mobil Corporation's affiliates will now offer marine lubricant service to shipping companies calling on ports located in the Dominican Republic, Curacao, Aruba and Bonaire. A full range of Mobil-brand marine lubricants is available in 11 ports in the Dominican Republic, as well as the ports of Willemstad and Bullenbaai in Curacao; Oranjestad in Aruba and Kralendijk in Bonaire.
COSCO Places Large Lubricants Order with Shell
Shell Marine said it has been awarded China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company’s (COSCO SHIPPING) largest marine lubricants order in 2017. Selection of gear oil for marine thrusters or a stern tube lubricant for use with propeller shaft bearings is often based on analyzing price/performance characteristics of the lubricant and its availability. Now with the implementation of the 2013 Vessel General Permit, this analysis must be expanded to include environmentally acceptable lubricants (EALs) that meet the new EPA standards. To meet environmental requirements, EALs are blended from base oils other than mineral oil. They still meet the same lubricant objective – providing long-term equipment protection.
