Foreship Hires Harris in Director Role

MJM Group Cruises to Poland

Bolidt: Cruise Refits Surge

Bolidt Synthetic Products & Systems says a vibrant cruise ship refurbishment market has brought on an all-time high in refit work, including completion of five major ship projects so far this year, plus bookings for a further seven large ship jobs as part of a workload that the company says includes ‘dozens’ of forthcoming projects planned for well into 2019.In 2018, Bolidt has been a key participant in refurbishment and upgrade projects involving NCL’s Norwegian Sun and Norwegian Star; the RCCL vessels Mariner and Independence of the Seas; and the Azamara Club Cruises ship Azamara Pursuit.

Interior Facelift for Queen Mary 2

Cunard’s luxurious flagship, the iconic 2,620 passenger ocean liner Queen Mary 2, will undergo an interior refit at the hands of McCue Marine during a 25-day multimillion-pound dry-dock at the Blohm & Voss Shipyard in Hamburg, Germany between May 27 and June 21, 2016. McCue, who secured a contract to remaster areas of the ship, will upgrade the Queen’s Grill and Princess Grill restaurants, in addition to the Queen’s Grill Lounge. “We will be involved in fitting out some of the most prestigious public areas on the vessel,” said Stephen Mills, business development manager at McCue Marine.

P&O Introduce Irish Sea Fast Ferry After Overhaul

Ship refurbishment specialists Blu Marine complete the £500,000 contract, and P&O has begun operating the ship on its Troon to Larne service. Blu Marine carried out the work in Belfast Harbour, which mainly involved fitting the P&O Express with a new Club Lounge designed to meet the needs of business travellers. The 90-capacity lounge will offer complimentary news-papers, magazines, drinks and snacks, with facilities in place to allow passengers to use laptops, tablets and mobile phones.

SEA LEVEL MARINE Wraps Up Busy Year

Miami-based SEA LEVEL MARINE, full-service marine outfitting contractor, celebrates completion of the renovation of Britto Art Gallery, Cupcake Cupboard, Nursery, and Vintages Wine Bar aboard the Liberty of the Seas (January 2011) and Freedom of the Seas (March 2011). The project was completed in seven days during dry-dock in Freeport, Grand Bahama. For these renovations, the SEA LEVEL team led an experienced crew of more than 75 craftsmen and technicians in transforming these spaces to duplicate new venues introduced on the Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas.

Atlantic Marine-Mobile Completes Variety of Cruise Ship Jobs

Atlantic Marine-Mobile was granted myriad of cruise ship refurbishment contracts throughout 2001, beginning with Holland America’s Maasdam, which spent approximately 14 days last January at the Alabama yard’s drydock. During this period, the vessel underwent steel prefabrication and installation of a new 2,400 sq. ft. teen room, which was put in place via the yard’s 275-ton bridge crane Goliath. The yard also completed a major cruise ship conversion to a Zenon system on Holland America’s Zaandam in order to achieve the highest level of environmental compliance.
