MarineMTS Strikes Equity Deal with SRH Marine Electronics

Stonehaven-based marine technology company MarineMTS has struck an equity funding deal with SRH Marine SAIT (trading as SRH Marine Electronics). The deal will see the North-east business benefit from a multimillion dollar funding package, and through SRH Marine’s existing customer base, unlock access to approximately 15,000 vessels which could benefit from MarineMTS’ latest ‘Silverbox’ technology. Danelec to Show VDR Technology at Posidonia

The new IMO Standard for VDRs comes into force July 1. After that date, all VDR installations must fully comply with the new requirements. This includes newbuilds and retrofits. Danelec Marine will showcase its new-generation VDR at Posidnoia on the SRH Marine Electronics Stand (#1.113). The Danelec DM100 is the first VDR designed specifically to meet the new IMO Standard. The new Danelec DM100 also features a totally fresh approach to simplifying shipboard service for marine electronics. Vizada Signs Agreement with Danos Shipping

Vizada and Vizada Elite Partner SRH Marine Electronics S.A. have signed a 24-month agreement with Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd to equip the company’s fleet of vessels with a full broadband communications system. Northrop Grumman Supplies Greek Cruise Ship

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has supplied the electronic navigation systems for the Greek cruise ship MV Aegean Odyssey, which has recently completed a major refurbishment. The ship's bridge has been refitted with a complete navigation package based on Northrop Grumman's Sperry Marine VisionMaster FT(TM) technology. The scope of supply includes radars, electronic chart display and information system, gyrocompass, autopilot, ship steering system and other sensors. SRH Marine Electronics S.A., Northrop Grumman's sales and service agent in Greece, was responsible for installation, commissioning, testing and technical support, as well as operator training.

SRH Marine Order S-VDRs

Northrop Grumman Corporation has received orders from SRH Marine Electronics SA of Piraeus, Greece, to supply more than 60 simplified voyage data recorders (S-VDRs) for Greek shipowners to meet International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations requiring S-VDRs on existing merchant ships by July 1, 2007. Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit will supply the S-VDR systems and will assist SRH Marine to oversee installation, integration, commissioning and annual performance testing of the systems through its worldwide service network. The S-VDR orders include 23 ships owned by a Greek container ship operator, with the remainder distributed among a number of other Greek shipowners.
