Fjords Processing Bags Johan Sverdrup Contracts

Fjords Processing, headquartered in Norway (Fornebu), has won three contracts for the deliveries of process systems for the Johan Sverdrup development in the North Sea. The contracts were signed with Statoil on behalf of the Johan Sverdrup license. The contracts were awarded in tough competition with several larger international companies. Rune Fantoft, CEO of Fjords Processing comments: "The contracts are strategically important for Fjords Processing, being a recently established, Norwegian supplier ."(independent company since the separation from Aker Solutions in September 2014). Aker, Fjords Join Forces

Aker Solutions and Fjords Processing have formed an alliance to develop technology and capabilities for advanced, cost-effective wellstream separation and treatment solutions for the subsea and topside oil and gas industry. The WellSep alliance will apply Aker Solutions' subsea processing experience and testing facilities and Fjords' topside and onshore separation technologies to provide complete solutions. "This is a great opportunity to further develop our key technologies with one of our most important partners, Aker Solutions," said Rune Fantoft, chief executive officer of Fjords Processing. "The alliance will further strengthen our wellstream separation technology portfolio, testing and in-house capabilities," said Alan Brunnen, head of subsea at Aker Solutions.

Statoil: Subsea Wet Gas Compressor Coming to Gullfaks

The world’s first subsea wet gas compressor station is now ready for the final testing at Horsøy outside Bergen before being prepared for installation and hook-up to Gullfaks C in 2015. By adding 22 million extra barrels of oil equivalent from the Gullfaks South Brent reservoir the compressor will help extend the field’s productive life. Starting back in 2008 the efforts to develop and qualify the compressor in line with Statoil’s requirements represent a good example of Statoil’s cooperation with the Norwegian supply industry to develop robust improved oil recovery solutions.

NCS Survey Wins Multi-Year Contract with Aker

NCS Survey, an Acteon company, has been awarded a five-year contract with AKOFS Wayfarer AS, a Norwegian marine contractor, for the supply of positioning and survey services aboard the Aker Wayfarer. New Directors Key to Isolation Experts STATS Group

STATS Group has appointed two new directors as part of a strategy to double the size of the business. Carl-Petter Halvorsen has joined the pipeline engineering company as business development director while Dave Shand takes up the newly created post of chief operating officer. The dual appointments will strengthen STATS’ management team and free up chief executive officer Pete Duguid to focus on international development of the company’s unique range of piping and isolation tools for the oil and gas industries.

GE Oil & Gas $120M Subsea Service Contract

Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras), a world leader in deep-water and ultra-deep water oil production, has awarded GE Oil & Gas a four-year service agreement to deliver repairs, maintenance and retrofits on Petrobras’ fleet of subsea equipment installed in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil. The scope of the agreement, valued at approximately $120M, includes service and repairs on over 300 exploration and 250 production tools, as well as retrofitting six subsea production trees each year with GE advanced technology. GE Wins $200M Petrobras Contract

GE (NYSE: GE) Oil & Gas has announced that its Wellstream business, acquired in March, has been awarded a long-term, flexible pipe and subsea equipment logistics services contract by Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras), one of the largest companies in Latin America which also controls significant energy assets in 18 countries worldwide. The long-term contract is initially valued in excess of $200M. To perform the long-term contract, GE will build a dedicated 55,000 sq. meter, $90M investment Wellstream flexible pipe and subsea equipment Logistics Base in Niterói, a commercial hub located 14 kms outside Rio de Janeiro. Petrobras will use the new facility to support its development of pre-salt oil and gas field projects in the Campos and Santos basins offshore Brazil.

Aker Solutions Splits into 3 Separate Companies

Aker Solutions has decided to create three separate companies., a strategic direction announced at the company's capital markets day in Oslo today. This is the conclusion of a strategy process initiated by the Board in second quarter 2009. "We have listened carefully to feedback from our customers and investors and analyzed how we should position ourselves to meet their expectations," says Øyvind Eriksen, executive chairman of Aker Solutions. "Their feedback is consistent. Our company enjoys strong positions in several market segments. However, to further accelerate our growth, we should be more focused, more flexible in our approach to customer specific requirements, and much more transparent," he said.

Statoil Honored in Houston

The Tyrihans field was one of five offshore developments to be presented with a Five Star Award at the Deep Offshore Technology (DOT) conference in Houston on Feb. 2. The Statoil-operated oil and gas project in the Norwegian Sea came on stream last July, and has delivered well above its production targets. Ingrid Sølvberg, vice president within marine technology and operations, accepted the award – given for field developments judged to be the best in the world – on behalf of the group.

$100 Oil: Driving Deepwater Oil Services Boom

Deepwater is one of the few areas where good prospects of major oil finds still remain, and these are mainly outside the control of OPEC. In a note to clients today, John Westwood, MD of international energy analysts Douglas-Westwood said “over the past year the stock prices of a grouping of 10 companies with significant exposure to the sector (the Douglas-Westwood Deepwater Index) has risen by an average of 79% and one, Wellstream, by 157%”. Deepwater now accounts for almost 15% of total offshore oil and gas production, but over the next few years its total share relative to shallow-water output will grow, to around 20% of offshore production by 2011.

Officials with the 2006 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) have selected Aker Kvaerner's Multibooster subsea boosting technology to win an OTC.06 Spotlight on New Technology Award. The award showcases advanced technologies for the offshore oil and gas industry. Companies exhibiting at this year's OTC submitted entries detailing why their innovative technology should be in the spotlight at OTC. Aker Kvaerner's MultiBooster subsea multiphase pump system increases oil recovery and enables longer step-out distances between subsea assets and host facilities by adding energy to the wellstream which allows for a lower well-head pressure and increased production rates.
