Industrial technology specialist Tracerco, part of the Johnson Matthey Group, has expanded its North Sea operations by establishing its Norwegian base as a fully fledged service centre at new premises in Bergen.

The base includes full operational facilities allowing for the storage, maintenance and mobilisation of process diagnostics services across the region. Tracerco has been in Norway for over five years but mainly in a sales and technical support capacity.

A team of local engineers can now be deployed to work on projects throughout the region, improving mobilisation times for subsea and topside process diagnostics and flow assurance services, both of which have seen increased demand in recent years. The new headquarters houses a suite for client consultation regarding Tracerco’s products and services and its location allows subsea equipment testing at up to 600m water depth in an adjacent fjord.

Despite the current economic conditions, Norway continues to be a hub for exploration and production activity and key services delivered to regional operators include: topside and subsea process instrument sales and services; offshore and refinery process diagnostics and subsea flow assurance services.

The Bergen base is the latest in a line of new service centres launched by Tracerco. In the past year, the company has opened new operational facilities in Abu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur, Perth, Australia and Shanghai.
