Stor Kran LLC has announced the arrival of the Pacific Titan, the largest floating shear-leg crane now stationed on the U.S. West Coast. With 2,000 tons of lifting power and a 330-foot boom, the Pacific Titan establishes a new benchmark for regional heavy-lift capability—reducing reliance on East Coast and overseas assets while expanding opportunities across the infrastructure, energy, and defense sectors.

Power and Reach for the Pacific

Purpose-built for nearshore and inshore construction, the Pacific Titan combines exceptional capacity, reach, and stability rarely available west of the Rockies. Its 2,000-ton main hoist and 330-foot boom enable complex lifts, from bridge segments and modular load-outs to naval and heavy-infrastructure projects.

“Bringing the Pacific Titan to the West Coast expands what’s possible for our clients,” said Norm Mitchell, Stor Kran’s Marine Manager. “This vessel was acquired to meet the growing need for efficient, high-capacity lifting solutions supporting both commercial and government projects throughout the Pacific Rim.”

Strategically Positioned in the Pacific Northwest

Homeported in the Pacific Northwest, the Pacific Titan serves as a regional hub for heavy-lift support across California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii, with rapid deployment capability throughout the Pacific basin.

Its shallow-draft design and eight-point mooring system make it highly adaptable—operating efficiently in deep-water ports, coastal construction sites, and sheltered bays. The vessel enhances local heavy-lift capacity while reducing mobilization time and costs for major projects.

Driving the Next Wave of Energy and Infrastructure Development

As the West Coast accelerates investment in LNG terminal expansion, port modernization, and offshore energy, the Pacific Titan is poised to play a central role. Its combination of lift power, stability, and deck space supports subsea handling, heavy port logistics, and module installation, making it one of the most capable and versatile cranes operating in the region.

“Whether installing large components, assisting in port construction, or supporting energy-transition projects, the Pacific Titan is built for precision and reliability,” said Will Clark, Stor Kran CEO. “It represents Stor Kran’s commitment to advancing heavy-lift solutions along the Pacific Coast.”
