Two PSV Build Contracts for Ulstein Verft
On February 24, ULSTEIN announced the shipbuilding contracts for two new platform supply vessels (PSVs) for Blue Ship Invest. The vessels are of the PX121 design and are scheduled for delivery from Ulstein Verft Q1 2015. Ulstein Verft currently has seven vessels on order. In total, ULSTEIN has sold 20 designs of the PX121 design, and the two new vessels will be number nine and ten of this design type to be constructed at Ulstein Verft.

Shell Advances Peterhead Clean Energy Project
Shell has signed an agreement with the U.K. Government to progress the Peterhead Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project to the next phase of design. The project, led by Shell, with strategic support from SSE, owners of the Peterhead gas power station in Aberdeenshire, aims to capture10 million metric tons of CO2 over 10 years. This will generate enough clean electricity to power the equivalent of 500,000 homes a year.
New Container Line Includes Hamburg and the Black Sea
The French shipping company CMA CGM is expanding its range of liner services from Hamburg and including Black Sea ports in its schedule for the first time. Today, the CMA CGM Lavender sails on the extended FEMEX 1 Northern Europe-Mediterranean full container service from HHLA Container Terminal Burchardkai in Hamburg. Passing through the Bosphorus, for the first time she will also be calling at the Black Sea ports of Samsun (Turkey), Novorossiysk (Russia) and Constanta (Rumania).
ABB S2S System for Color Line Ferry
ABB, a global provider of power and energy solutions, is to supply a complete Shore to Ship Power (S2S) system to Color Line’s ro-pax ferry, SuperSpeed1. The 34,231 tons gross SuperSpeed1, built by Aker Finnyards at Rauma in Finland, has been in service on the Kristiansand – Hitshals route since 2008 and is the third Color Line vessel to be equipped with ABB’s system, after the Color Magic and Color Fantasy.

Vestdavit Supplies Davits for French Patrol Boat

Teras Offshore, along with Global Maritime & ASL Shipyard in Batam, Indonesia announce the completion of full height jacking trials of the 'Teras Sunrise'. The Teras Sunrise is the second 'Service Jack' design developed by Global Maritime, a jack-up construction vessel with a payload of up to 7,200 tonnes, outfitted with four jack-up legs for jacking operations in the North Sea in up to 80m water depth.
Gazprom & Shell Agree Roadmap for Sakhalin ll LNG Project
Gazprom inform that Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Ben van Beurden, Chief Executive Officer of Shell, met in Sochi and signed a document that that envisages the preparation of FEED documentation for the third LNG production train within the Sakhalin II project. “The global LNG market is booming – primarily in Asian countries. Novel LNG production capacities are the key to achieving a strong position in this market,” said Alexey Miller.

Korea Shipbuilder Wins Order for 8 Very Large Gas Carriers
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co Ltd (DSME) has won two orders worth a total of US$640-million to build eight very large gas carriers (VLGCs) for two unidentified Asia-based firms reports Reuters. The South Korean shipbuilder said in a statement both firms had ordered four gas carriers each, all expected delivery to be completed by the second half of 2016. In related news, DSME recently issued the following listing for investors showing its 2014 orders and backlog.
Landing Craft Becomes Floating Repair Facility
Platinum Yacht Repair, the yacht repair and maintenance arm of Dubai's Drydocks World & Maritime World, say they have converted the landing craft Al Hail 1, belonging to Dubai-based M/S Royal Yachts from naval to civilan use as floating yacht repair and maintenance facility. The 54-metre vessel arrived at the Platinum Yacht Repair facility at Dubai Maritime City in June 2013 to undergo the necessary extensive modification and refit.
