Icom Introduces Marine Black Box with Class D DSC
Icom America, manufacturer of marine radio products, introduced the IC-M400BB VHF fixed mount with Class D DSC. Comprising only a black box main body and a supplied COMMANDMICIV remote control microphone accessory, the two-piece radio set affords flexible installation and a small physical footprint. The Royal Navy visited Saab Seaeye to view the company’s range of underwater vehicle technology designed for maritime defense. A delegation led by Commodore Alex Burton, head of Maritime Capability, toured the facilities at Fareham, which have recently doubled in size since the opening of a second factory building. Centrica Energy Delivers First Production
Gas production has begun from the Rhyl gas field in Morecambe Bay, helping to secure the future of 400 North West jobs and boost energy security for the U.K. The Rhyl field, located 39km off the coast of Barrow, was first discovered in 2009 and is wholly owned and operated by Centrica Energy. Gas from Rhyl will be produced through Centrica Energy’s existing North Morecambe platform, then come onshore to its Barrow terminal complex by pipeline for processing.
