ClassNK Starts Joint Research Project with Shipyards on Upgraded Design taking into consideration Ship's Performance in Actual Seas. ClassNK (Chairman and President: Noboru Ueda) has started full scale ship tests to develop a feedback scheme on the design for ships performances in actual seas in collaboration with IMABARI SHIPBUILDING CO.,LTD (President and Representative Director: Higaki Yukito) and SAYONAS SHIPBUILDING CO. DOJ: Second Indictment for Somali Pirates
More Charges for Alleged Somali Pirates Indicted for Attack of the USS Ashland. A federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia has returned a second superseding indictment, charging five men from Somalia with engaging in piracy and related offenses pertaining to the attack on the Navy ship, the USS Ashland. Cableship Blaze off Skeleton Coast Forces Abandon Ship
France Telecom-Orange announce abandonment of its cable ship 'Chamarel' off the coast of Namibia. A fire broke out on the cableship Chamarel while returning from a repair operation on the Sat3-Safe cable off the coast of Namibia in the Atlantic Ocean.
