Strategic Marine Wins Offshore Cargo Catamaran Contract
Western Australian (WA) ship builder Strategic Marine has signed a contract with repeat client Offshore Plant Hire for the construction of a 24 meter heavy duty offshore cargo catamaran. The catamaran will be built at Strategic Marine's Singapore facility which is nearing the end of a major expansion program which will see the shipyard more than double its capacity. The vessel will be completed in the first quarter of 2013 and is expected to operate in WAâs North West.

Samsung Heavy Industries won an order to build Pacific Orca in July 2010. Pacific Orca is 161m long, 49m wide and 10.4m high, and as the worldâs largest wind farm installation vessel, it is capable of transporting and installing 12 units of 3.6MW. It also allows installation of wind farms to a depth of 60m, which is the deepest in the world, as well as the installation of ultra-large wind farms with a capacity of 10MW or higherâŚ

SENER Wins its First China Marine Engineering Contract
The SENER contracts are with the Chinese CSDDC ((China Ship Development and Design Center) & CSOC (China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Co. Ltd). Once built, the fishing vessel will be operated by the company CNFC (China National Fisheries Corporation) in the fishing-grounds of the coast of West Africa. This project represents an important milestone for SENER because it is the first marine engineering contract achieved in China.

Kleven Maritime to Build LNG-powered PSV for Remøy Shipping
The vessel is to be built at Kleven Maritimeâs shipyard Kleven Verft. Total contract value for Kleven is around 400 million NOK. In addition, the contract also includes an option for a further vessel of the same type. The newbuild is of the VS 4412 DF PSV type from Wärtsila Ship Design Norway. âCompetition has been really hard this time, and we chose Kleven Maritime because of their long experience and competence when it comes to building LNG powered vessels.

New Cranes Arrive at Seattle Container Terminal
SSA Marine & subsidiary SSA Terminals announce arrival of 3 new Super Post Panamax cranes for Terminal 18, Seattle. Together with the three Super Post Panamax cranes that arrived in December 2011, the cranes represent a $54 million investment by SSA Terminals. These are the largest cranes in the Puget Sound region, enabling Terminal 18 to service the worldâs largest 18,000 TEU vessels.
