Martin, Schiller Retire from Panel Specialists
Hal Martin and Ray Schiller, owners of Panel Specialists, Inc. in Temple, Texas, retired December 31, 2009. As life-long residents of Temple, both had careers with Wilsonart. Schiller spent 30 years with Wilsonart and has been involved with the marine industry for 35 years. Martin and Schiller started PSI April 1, 1990 when they bought the laminating division of Wilsonart in Temple. Wilsonart began supplying laminated marine panels with USCG Certificates in the mid 1970's.

STX Europe has entered into a new contract with Simon Møkster Rederi for the building of a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV). The vessel is of STX Europe PSV 09 CD design, featured with the new environmental friendly hull lines optimized for eco-drive in all weather conditions. MAN ME-Engines for Brazil
MAN Diesel has announced a series of significant orders for its two-stroke, electronic ME-engines in Brazil. The new engines will be delivered to Petrobras and Vale. Petrobras Brazil’s multinational energy company, has ordered 10 × 6S70ME-C engines to power a new generation of Suezmax tankers as part of a massive fleet-renewal programme. The Petrobras engines will be constructed by Doosan Engine in Korea with the ships being built at the new Estaleiro Atlântico Sul (EAS) shipyard.

Titan to Improve Port-au-Prince Navigation
A Titan Salvage team is working in Haiti to remove navigational hazards, including the collapsed Washington gantry crane, in Port-au-Prince for the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), in an effort to increase the cargo throughput in the heavily damaged port. Titan’s team, led by Salvage Master Roy Dodgen and Project Manager Leo McDonough, is using Resolve Marine Services' 142-ft crane barge RMG300 to help clear debris and other navigational hazards.

MAN Engines for Chinese Ferry Company
Bohai Ferry Co., Ltd. has ordered four MAN 16V32/40CD propulsion plants to power two passenger vessels to supplement its fleet. The four-stroke engines will be built at MAN Diesel’s production centre in Augsburg, Germany, and will operate at 750 rpm, providing a total of 16 MW of installed power for the 2300P/2500LM RoPax vessels. The ferries will be built at Huanghai Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., in RongCheng City, Shandong Province, and the order includes an option for two other vessels.
