Video: TS Taipei Wreck Removed Offshore Taiwan

Posted to Maritime Reporter (by on February 20, 2018

SMIT Salvage, who completed the TS Taipei wreck removal in 2016, has published a video documenting the complex salvage project.

The 15,487-ton cargo ship TS Taipei, owned by TS Lines, suffered engine failure and ran aground offshore Shimen in the north of Taiwan while en route from Hong Kong to Keelung Port on March 10, 2016.

The containership, which was carrying 384 containers at the time of the incident, broke in two and sank, releasing heavy oil into the sea.
