Northwest Seaport Alliance Full Exports Up 2.2% YTD
The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) reports that February 2026 total container volume (international and domestic) reached 207,725 TEUs, down 19.4% compared to February 2025, when shippers were frontloading cargo ahead of expected tariffs.While full imports decreased 29.5%, full exports were up 4.9%. The Pasha Group Acquires Assets of MacMillan-Piper LLC, Tacoma Transload LLC
The Pasha Group, together with The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA), announced Pasha Logistics LLC’s acquisition of certain assets of MacMillan-Piper LLC and Tacoma Transload LLC. The expansion follows the successful completion of an asset purchase agreement with the court-appointed Receiver for GSC Enterprises, Inc., which included certain assets of MacMillan-Piper LLC—a Pacific Northwest specialty transloader—and Tacoma Transload LLC.

NWSA Import Volumes Rise in May 2018

John Wolfe, CEO of The Northwest Seaport Alliance, received the 2017 Connie Award presented by the Containerization & Intermodal Institute in Long Beach, Calif., on Tuesday, September 19. Since the formation of the NWSA in August 2015, Wolfe has led the marine cargo operating partnership of the ports of Seattle and Tacoma. “This is an incredible honor for John and The Northwest Seaport Alliance,” said Tom Albro, Port of Seattle commission president and co-chair of The Northwest Seaport Alliance.

Strong import volumes through The Northwest Seaport Alliance in July suggest peak shipping season is just around the corner, with full imports jumping nearly 12 percent compared to July 2015.
Northwest Seaport Alliance Extends Peak Season Gate Hours
The Northwest Seaport Alliance said it will reimburse up to $2 million to extend gate hours at its international container terminals during peak season. With a 3 to 5 percent increase in cargo volume forecasted during peak season, which will start in late August and continue through early November, the alliance proposes to help the marine terminal operators avoid congestion on surface streets in the port industrial area and keep import and export cargo flowing efficiently.
Northwest Seaport Alliance Joins Green Marine
The Northwest Seaport Alliance has signed on to participate in Green Marine, North America’s largest voluntary environmental certification program for the maritime industry. Green Marine encourages its participants—ship owners, ports and terminals—to reduce their environmental footprint related to air quality, greenhouse gases, spill prevention, stormwater treatment, noise and other community impacts and environmental leadership.
Northwest Seaport Alliance Plans $141 Mln Terminal Upgrade
The Northwest Seaport Alliance, a marine cargo operating partnership of the ports of Seattle and Tacoma, announced that its managing members have approved $141 million worth of construction and cranes to dock two of the largest containerships simultaneously at Husky Terminal in the South Harbor. The actions also included a 20-year lease extension, allowing Husky Terminal and Stevedoring to operate the terminal until 2046.
