UK-based ALE Heavylift and compatriot engineering and construction company J Murphy & Sons announced a new collective partnership to offer linear winch hire, pipe pulling and installation engineering services worldwide.

As part of the agreement, ALE will also have access to equipment designed by Murphy subsidiary Land & Marine. Based in the UK, Land & Marine’s product portfolio includes pipe handling equipment such as rollers and rail bogies, as well as 800-metric-ton capacity liner winches.

Land & Marine’s design is patented and allows socket passing under load as well as utilizing advanced hydraulic controls for accurate monitoring. This results in less downtime and increased project efficiency.

"These specialisms and equipment offer an ideal complement to the existing capabilities of the ALE – Offshore Services division in providing tailored engineering expertise and equipment to deliver complex marine and offshore projects," said a joint press release.

The partnership brings together joint skill-sets and expertise in offshore, near-shore and marine operations, as well as enhancing the equipment fleet and capabilities to cover a wide range of client requirements regardless of the complexity of the project.

“Land & Marine has a well-established reputation in the linear winch hire and pipe pulling market that will complement ALE – Offshore Services, whilst broadening our overall offshore services offering into areas of civils and decommissioning. This specialist experience, combined with their innovative approach, makes it an ideal fit for working together,” explained Barnaby Mills, General Manager for ALE – Offshore Services.

Andrew Ball, Murphy’s Natural Resources Sector Director, said, “ALE’s global network of branches, broad range of equipment and offshore expertise is a natural, complementary fit with Land & Marine. We look forward to the partnership allowing us to bring a broader package of services and greater value to our customers across the world.”
