Triton Offers New South American Service

July 11, 2013

Triton Overseas Transport, a NVOCC and provider of international freight services, said it has recently launched services to and from South America. Less than a month underway, the new South America services connect to Buenos Aires, Argentina; Santos, Brazil; Valparaiso, Chile; and Callao, Peru via the Port of Houston. On-carriage transportation throughout each South American country is available.

Triton’s new services to and from South America via the Port of Houston strengthen the company’s mission to offer fast transit times, enhanced service and competitive rates to its international customer base. Servicing the expansive North American region from the Mississippi River to the west coast, Triton offers domestic trucking services as well as 16 container freight stations to ensure the timely and convenient transport of cargo. Initiating trade lanes to and from South America via the Port of Houston now allows Triton to reduce costs while maintaining its standard of excellence in service to both its North American and international clientele.

“By connecting to South America via the Port of Houston, Triton is able to offer a direct line of transportation that not only enables expedited transit times, but supports our commitment to offer low rates and improved service to our ever-expanding global customer base. Only a month in, we are overwhelmed by the success of the new services and are proud of the new shipping solution,” commented Lisa Cumbess, manager of the LCL department at Triton Overseas Transport.

In May, the Port of Houston reported a $20 million operating revenue, the highest in its history. To date, the Port of Houston is Brazil’s largest trading partner in containerized cargo, while Texas is Brazil’s largest trading partner overall. Triton looks forward to growing its South America services via this thriving port location.

In addition to offering import and export consolidation services, as well as FCL services, Triton Overseas Transport provides break bulk, air freight and trucking services to connect to more than 200 cities across the globe. An industry leader in technology, online tracking and booking are available to consumers via Triton’s comprehensive website, in addition to user-friendly tools including an online currency and metric converter.
