PCA Announce New Booking & Service Tariff

New booking tariff for neopanamax locks & changes to other service tariffs Friday, March 11, 2016, Panama Canal, Panama 
The Panama Canal Authority (PCA) announced the following new booking and PCSOPEP tariffs for the neopanamax vessels and modifications to other pilot related tariffs, in preparation for the upcoming opening of the neopanamax locks.


NEW BOOKING TARIFFS FOR  NEOPANAMAX AND PANAMAX PLUS VESSELS

- Vessels 107 ft (32.61m) or less in beam and length overall (LOA) less than 966 ft (294.44m), with mean TFW draft greater than 39.5 ft (12.04m): $35000.00
- Vessels 107 ft (32.61m) or less in beam and LOA of 966 ft (294.44m) or greater: $35000.00
- Vessels with beam greater than 107 ft (32.61m) and less than 120 ft (36.58m): $35000.00
- Vessels with beam of 120 ft (36.58m) or more and less than 140 ft (42.67m): $35000.00
- Vessels with beam equal to or greater than  140 ft (42.67m): $35000.00
(* Provided that the vessel is required to transit through the neopanamax locks)
Elimination of the tariff for Daylight Transit requested with less than 3 days in advanced of reserved date. All requests for daylight transit, if approved, will be assessed Tariff item #1050.0247 ($30000.00).

SUBSTITUTIONS BETWEEN A BOOKED VESSEL AND NON-BOOKED VESSEL. These substitutions will not incur a charge provided they are requested at least 14 days in advance of the vessel’s booking date, instead of the previous 30 day requirement.

NEW PCSOPEP (PANAMA CANAL SHIPBOARD OIL POLLUTION EMERGENCY PLAN) TARIFF
for neopanamax vessels:
- Vessels with oil-carrying capacity of 90000MT or more, but less than 140000MT: $1800.00
- Vessels with oil-carrying capacity of 140000MT or more: $2300.00

PILOTAGE FEES:

Transit pilot delay, for each pilot required:
- For vessels with LOA greater than 125 ft (38.1m): $700.00
- For vessels with LOA of 125ft (38.1m) or less: $471.00

Additional pilot for transit due to vessel condition or deficiency: $2410.00

Special pilotage services when requested before 0500 hours for assignments between 0701 hours that day and 0700 hours the next day:
- For harbor movement: $2410.00
- For commercial dredging equipment or for assignments requiring the pilot onboard for up to 8 hours: $2410.00

Special pilotage services when requested after 0500 hours for assignments between 0701 hours that day and 0700 hours the next day:
- For harbor movement: $4815.00
- For commercial dredging equipment or for assignments requiring the pilot onboard for up to 8 hours: $4815.00

Special pilotage services for transiting vessels or for assignments as a result of vessel deficiencies if requested without the required advance notification: $4815.00

In addition, the requirement for notification of vessel’s visibility condition without being assessed the premium fee will be changed from 48 to 36 hours prior to the vessel’s arrival

These new tariffs will become effect April 1, 2016, except for the new booking tariffs for neopanamax and panamax plus vessels, which will be effective once the requests for booking through the neopanamax locks are accepted. Similarly, the PCSOPEP charges will be implemented once the neopanamax locks are open for commercial operation.
