Exel Announces LTL Carriers of the Year

Exel announces their selection of 2001 Less-than-Truckload Carriers of the Year. The awards are as follows: Yellow Transportation, 2001 LTL National Carrier of the Year American Freightways, 2001 LTL Inter-Regional Carrier of the Year USF Holland, 2001 LTL Regional Carrier of the Year . Each carrier was selected by Exel's Transportation Services from 44 other certified carriers, based upon a seven point criteria including: operating personnel, administration, information technology, equipment availability, on-time performance, cost and sales personnel. "We chose the categories, keeping in mind the key points we look for in working with carriers," Kevin Potempa, Vice President - LTL Services said. "We believe the on time performance, lack of damage and ease of doing business with these carriers play a vital role in our success, and in turn, make our service more valuable to our customers." Exel will honor each of the selected carriers at a recognition dinner in Scottsdale, Ariz., where they will officially be presented their awards. "These outstanding carriers deserve recognition for their continued performance," said Potempa. "Each one of the selected carriers' partnerships with Exel has contributed to our success as the leading 3pl, getting freight moved on time, every time."
