EPA – Cruise Ship Discharge Assessment Report
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a notice stating that the 162-page Cruise Ship Discharge Assessment Report has been completed. The report assesses five cruise ship waste streams (sewage, graywater, oily bilge water, solid waste, and hazardous waste). It should be noted that this report was independent of, but tangentially related to, the recently-developed Vessel General Permit (VGP) program under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). 74 Fed. Reg. 442 (January 6, 2009).
